Finally Home Toby and Asher came home on Saturday. As soon as they got here Toby was very interested in Beckham (his daddy) but Beckham was very scared of Toby and would run off. it was so cute. Asher is coming around today. He was very scared at first but now he plays more. They are getting tons of sleep and are starting to eat more puppy food. Next week they will be getting their first set of shots. Daisy is doing great and knows when she needs to be nest to her babies.

seven and a half weeks Toby and Asher are so hilarious. Toby will whine to come out of the pin. They have started barking a bit and sometimes they don't realize that it's them and it kind of scares them. Very funny! We are keeping Daisy out of the pin for longer now so they can eat the puppy food which is kind of working but Daisy knows when she needs to go back in and let them nurse. We took Daisy to the vet on Saturday because she was still discharging some blood, they did an x-ray and some blood work and couldn't find anything wrong. Thank goodness! Beckham has been very good with Toby and Asher He will let them crawl all over him and they try to bite his ears. We've tried trimming their nails but they will not have any of it. We talked to the vet when we bright Daisy up there and they said that we could wait and they will do it. Toby will come to us when we call him Toby blue. He will be playing on the other side of the room but once we call out "Toby Blue" he will come running towards us. Asher is a lot more calm but when we peak over the pin and call him he will look up at us. They bring so much happiness! Deb did such an amazing job! We don't know what we would've done if she wasn't there to help us and our babies. Thank you to everyone for all the support that we received!

That's so cool that Toby knows his name! He's so smart! Asher is just a little cuddle bug, isn't he? Hope you can figure out the nail clipping eventually. You gotta work with their feet alot when they are little. Even if you don't clip them yourselves at first, have them on their back and play with their feet. I would even touch their feet with the clippers without actually clipping. Just so they get used to the sensation. they will get it eventually. I think it's good if you have the vet do it, but make sure you play with their feet! Phoebe used to fight tooth and nail when we first got her. Now she's an angel. Carson still hates it, but he knows he won't win if he fights, so he's just verbal while we do it.... moaning like were killing him. It's pretty funny! Do you guys still want a cd of pics I took? Also, a copy of the whole weight chart I kept while they were here...great for Tasha's scrapbook! Kisses to the babies and Daisy....and what the heck, give Beckham one too! deb

8 Weeks today! Well the pups are 8 weeks today. Their weights are: Toby Blue - 1lb 14.5 oz - (30 oz) Asher - 2lb 9 or 10 oz (41 oz) - he's getting a lil too big for our little scale I do have a question though, since they are 8 weeks they don't show much sign of being weaned. I do as Deb did and leave out Dry kibble (Royal Canine) and some graded kibble of the same brand. Royal Canine MiniBabyDog30 same that Deb left out. 3 Times a day I will soak a little milk replacer Eukiba and mix it with some solid kibble and some chopped up kibble. They show interest in it and Asher will eat a ton, but little Toby Blue only licks where he can get the milk. Sometimes we'll see him chew a little but not much. He is still is gaining weight in line with Kim's (yorkiepassion.com's) chart and he's nursing strong still. Daisy isn't kicking him off she now lays down calmly to let them nurse. We brought Daisy to the vet to check on her discharge since it was still a little bloody, vet took some x-rays and did some blood work and everything was good. What a relief! She is still active and the discharges have gone away for the most part. The vet also said that they should nearly be weaned and we should start removing Daisy from the pin more since they could be stealing her nutrients, etc. He also says we should fix her ASAP since we know we aren't going to breed her, this would prevent any further complications. Is there anything else I can try in order to wean them, we are keeping them so they aren't going to be sold or anything. But we just want them to eat well. Thanks for any advice!

Well tonight both of them ate a TON of Royal Canine softened with Eusbilac (not Eukiba I had a brain fart) replacement milk. Toby was scarfing it down great, we know he can chew because he chews on toys and even chewed on a peice of a treat that Daisy dropped. Hopefully he'll pick up the dry stuff soon :-D They are both doing great and just got done with their hour playtime, during this time they both lap a good amount of water and eat their mix. Daisy still lets them nurse a lot so we're going to let he do that until she is ready to wean them herself.

Update with pictures! Well Toby Blue and Asher (fatty) have become quite the joy as we expected. They both have been fully weaned for about 3-4 weeks and are on Royal Canine Mini Puppy 33 (I believe that is the correct number) and when outside their pin they eat the full grown Royal Canine Yorkshire dog food sometimes instead of their puppy food. They both are very hyper and can now easily take toys from Daisy (the mom) and Beckham (the father). Its amazing to see how fast they grow. They both can climb stairs, walk on leashes, and Natasha has even taught them to sit and laydown. Very attentive dogs and will come when we call. I think we learned a lot of training techniques from Beckham and Daisy. They both go pee outside and if they need to they will go inside on the pad. Still some accidents but thats okay for now since they often drink a lot of water when playing and they are only 12 weeks old. They go for their second round of shots this coming up weekend. They have gotten de-worming medicine (although the vet found no worms in their fecal) and had their first round of shots about 4 weeks ago. Well here they are Toby suprassed 3 lbs this week, I believe he'll be about Daisy's size full grown (5 lbs). And Asher is above 4 lbs... so he will be about 7 lbs full grown I believe, Asher is already almost the size of Daisy length wise when they lay down. Oh yeah we got their ears to stand up completely. We had to shave the back of their ears pretty short, but they look so good now! Last edited by lowviscosity; 06-23-2008 at 01:39 PM.
