| false pregnancy? Our 11 month old Violet was away while she was in heat, and when we got her back a week ago she had what looked like little milk sacks (like she was possibly having a false pregnancy). We got her back on her 20th day so that seems too early to me to be showing these kinds of signs already. Is it different for a false pregnancy though? Is there anything else it might be?

When Lola came into heat last time, she looked like she had milk coming in from the time she was in heat, till the time she would had delivered if she would have gotten pregnant. It CAN be a heat symptom that sticks around or a false pregnancy sign. However, a dog that gets pregnant can have that from the time they concieve as well, only time will tell. Can I ask if she was around other dogs at this time? Where did she go?

| Thanks for the reply. She was with a friend who has a neutered male yorkie (made sure he was not interested in her) and spent some time with another friend who has Violet's sister. No other dogs besides that. We have her mom and she never showed any signs until about a month after conceiving, but every dog is different I guess. Good to know it can be a symptom of the heat cycle.

| If she wasnt around an unaltered male at all, I wouldnt be too worried. I can see why you would be concerned though if you dont know for sure! Hopefully your friend kept a good eye on her.
