My Female is on heat

I did put my female in the crate, separated from my boys. For some reason, I have no idea how she got out! No! I am not trying to mate her yet! I had them since puppies and never tried to mate! I did not allow it to happen! It was an accident! Well, maybe I don't have the money to buy hundreds of gates, just to keep them separated. I have her in the crate and a gate but she got out from her crate and jumped the gate!

i came here to ask for guidance and help., I never thought people here can be so cruel and very judgemental. i love the bred to, and would not do anything to disgrace it. I paid alot of money towards them 3, more than what I spend for myself. People who criticizes me, look around you... are you who says who you are?

usually 18months to 2 years of age is a good time to breed for the first time (second or third heat depending on dog).

Yes, you can register the litter if they are AKC by doing DNA on mother, both sires and all the puppies. Expensive to do all and I think they have a large fee they charge in addition to the fee for each puppy. I have heard of this before and you can call AKC for details.
Even now that you are not sure if a breeding took place, in order to register through AKC you will need to do this entire DNA workup.

Ok you can call me mean and rude. You have had your dogs for years, and said you had them health tested and intended to breed this whole time, and now you come on asking the simple basic questions about if your males could get her pregnant? I mean come on now....... What did you do the other times she came into heat? If you don't have the $$ to buy pens, crates or whatever to do breeding properly ,and keep them seperate, and know when they were bred and to which male bred them. Then don't breed ! The next question will be how long till she has her pups, and how do I know if she is pregnant and how do I care for the pups?? All of these questions need to be researched way ahead of time ! Honestly , if you don't know what day your female came into heat , or what day of her heat she is fertile , or if both males could breed her, then you are FAR FROM READY TO BREED YORKIES!! It's ok to ask questions, but the basics should be known way before you intend to breed !! Again, call me mean, but you have owned your dogs for enough time and planned on breeding them for this whole time that you should have done your research. There are so many books, internet sites, your vet that did the health testing, to ask these questions ahead of time so you would be ready when the time comes.

I also agree that all these questions should have been done BEFORE breeding, and if you don't have money for crates how will you afford her pregnancy, a possible c/section, vaccination puppies, etc, etc, etc..? Nobody is doubting your love for your babies or judging you, but you must admit its an irresponsible thing to breed without the proper knowledge and you cant expect approval when doing so

Thats what I was wondering about too! Why havent you already done the research in the 4 years you have had them??

Thanks for clarifying. Guess that since I've been a responsible breeder, I've not had to "cross this bridge". It was something that I had heard and I know that when registering a litter on line, one question that is asked is something to the effect of "can the breeder guarantee that no other males bred with the female".

Either way, seems that there is a hefty fee to pay and one that I hope I NEVER have to pay.

For some reason U're female got out and U have no idea how? Didn't U make sure that her crate door was locked? What about putting U're 2 boys in another room with a door then, like a bedroom? How old are U're Yorkies??? I mean if U've had them for years and they haven't bred yet then how did U prevent it from happing before? U don't have to have hundreds of dollars to prevent breeding them. I mean there is yard sales to get gates at, 2nd hand stores and such, and I got one of my gates at walmart for like $12.00, my other one I used when my 9 year old was an infant and just hung on to it. There are other rooms surely in U're home with doors on them. I had Tiffanie and Teddy since they was weaned from their mother and prevented them from breeding until Tiffanie was in her 3rd heat and then did it by choice and I didn't have this forum for advice then. Then we have Sage and I prevented it & will prevent it till she is in her 3rd heat. I still have our boys in the living room with 2 gates up and doors closed due to Weezie and Sofie being 9 month old and this will be both their 1st heats for I'm not sure when they may go into heat and I just don't want to take any chances of them being bred with maybe their dad or their brother from a previous litter. If I take them outside for a walk I take my boys through our front door 1st come back and put them in their playpens and then take my girls through the back door. I don't allow them to come into contact what so ever during these time. Common Sense can be used in times like this. You should of been researching questions like this long before this. People aren't here to yell at U all just to bring up good points and what is wrong with us asking questions back? We're not here to argue with people. I may not always be right but when I'm in the wrong and it's been proven to me then I will admit it and I don't care one bit to be corrected after all that's how we learn.
