| Ciara Poor Ciara is so uncomfortable. We went to the vet today and they did an x-ray. We could see five puppies. I was told it's possible that there are more, but not likely. I think they should be born around Easter. I have been taking her temperature everyday for the last three days. It has only been 99.1 - 99.9. The vet thinks that's low and I know Cookie delivered after her temperature dropped that low. Maybe I need a new thermometer? I will stay close, or take her with me when I go. |

| Well! I was supposed to take Lucy to the specialist today (3 1/2 hours round trip, plus the vet visit), but Ciara's temperature dropped to 97.4. So, I had to reschedule. Ciara is very uncomfortable and shivering and she had a loose bowel movement during the night. She doesn't want to nest, but she doesn't want to leave me either. |

| One female of mine does not nest ,they are all different on how they will act during labor. Josey will just have the temp drop loose bowels and peeing .No panting and no digging. And of course the wanting to be close to me. |

| OK!!! Now I don't know what to think. Does she eventually stay in the whelping box? Everytime I put Ciara in her box, she just sits there and looks at me, but Cookie won't stay out of the box. I even went and got another one for Cookie, but she wants to be in Ciara's. |

| Of the few litters I have had, my dog never liked being in the box until after she delivered one or 2. My yellow lab had her first baby outside, squatting because she thought she had to poop and was in a complete panick in the house. She had him right into my hand, because I knew the baby was coming. Thank God too, because the belly of the baby was stuck to her behind because the cord was SO short. I had to cut and tie it. She had the rest in her box. That was her only litter. The other litters I have had, the dogs have been similar. Even with laboring, I think they just want to be in the most comfortable and familiar place possible, which is usually your bed or their bed.

| I should add that because she is so young and inexperienced, she might just want to go hide somewhere too.
