I love the fact that my breeder wants to see pictures of Cooper. It makes me feel that she is indeed in it for the love of the dogs. Good for you for sticking with what you believe in!

I don't breed, but I do foster. I like to know how the two pups I personally adopted out are doing (the pups I fostered for the humane society, I don't keep in contact w/ their families, b/c the HS arrange their adoptions). The parents keep in contact with me once or twice a year and send pics. If I haven't heard from them in awhile, I'll send a quick email, just asking how they are doing and tellng them I'd love to see new pics if they have any. I always let them know that if they need anything, I"m here for them.

I'll occassionally send the shelter I got Laney and Schatzie from a quick notes and pictures, and tell them thanks for all the work they do.

I send the lady I got Slade from emails and pics frequently. Not to long ago, she sent an email asking how he was doing, and it made me feel good that she cares about what happens to him in life.

I still keep up with the all the breeders from my girls. Kissy is almost 7 and i STILL keep up with her breeder and we have become great friends too!

I cannot believe someone would be upset at a breeder for wanting to stay in contact! I'm sorry! I wish Xavier's breeder had asked us to stay in contact! I've had several questions that I would've loved to ask her since we've had him, but since he was a gift, I don't know that she would like to be contacted. None of the paperwork says to feel free to contact her or anything even. I will most definitely be looking for a breeder who is more like YOU with the next baby we get!

I would love it if I was buying a puppy and the breeder told me that! I think it shows what a wonderful, caring, and loving person/breeder you are!! That in turn reflects into your wonderful puppy/s that I would be buying!!!

I personally would never sell or give up a puppy to an owner who didn't keep me updated. I need to know how they are doing and that they are being loved and cared for. It's ridiculous that she was upset that you wanted to keep in touch, most people look for that in a breeder, she should be thankful that you care so much about them.

I would love to have a pup from a breeder that was interested. All of the pups I bought from breeders couldn't care less about the pup. I was crushed after sending a picture to a breeder and never had it acknowledged. There was only one in Canada that I bought a Yorkie (she was my dream) from (long since deceased) and we still stay in touch. I've been owned by dogs for 40 years but not a very good breeder record here with all I've learned.

Wow good for you I have kept in contact with all my breeders, I probably get on there nerves I have sent monthly pics and emails to them all, i apprecaite breeders like you who want to keep in contact

Thats really surprising that someone thinks that way It sounds like she does not want to be bothered I am buying a bird from someone and planning on giving email updates. My breeder of Chachi and Jewels doesnt have email and didnt seem to care if she got updates so I dont with her. I think for people with computer access it is great

Makes you wonder if the lady was planning on doing something she wanted to hide. I send pics of Connor and brag about his accomplishments to the breeder of his granddam. She's proud of the fact that something that she started is still going strong. I send out birthday cards and the owners of my pups send pics and updates. I still do grooming on several of the pups that I have sold. I guess it takes all kinds but I wouldn't want her to have one of my babies either.
