Do you breeders really make no money at all from breeding??

Yep, That is what I was trying to say. And a lot of breeders on here must not be reputable because they are breeding to make some bucks. A lot of people are two-face and will appear like their babies are their world and that they are doing everything right. But then they are breeding low, low quality dogs to get money and then they may buy better quality just to be able to charge more.... I mean, why not just admit it.... 1st step is to admit it *insert 2 nods*...lol... I don't really care but I hate when people start acting like they don't make anything and if they do, they use it for only a future breeding or emergencies, when the case is that it help pay all their bills and the outfit they got one...lol.. I understand the first couple litters may help on some of the testing but what about the rest?

I've had a couple people say similar things to me, and it's nothing but ignorant. Age is just a number...doesn't automatically mean someone knows more or less than anyone else.

Anyone that breeds "micros" are not reputable

I agree...there are some unethical breeders here...there are anywhere you go. I'm kindof confused though....It sounds like you are upset a breeder on here. Are they trying to breed to their own standard or are you really okay with someone doing this?

I know, 1.5lbs-3lbs (maybe 4lbs if lucky) for $3000-$7000... I told her she was ripping people off and creating bad puppies.... and everyone is actually buying from her because she knows where to advertise. A place where millions go everyday... Youtube..

I understand what you mean here and agree, particularly the bold part. And I don't think that breeding with profit as your main purpose is right or should be done. And yes there are people who do it and lie about it because honestly, who would admit to that.
But, there are some people who DO sink alot of $$$ into their programs and never see return. Could they jack up the price and make money? Sure, but they don't.

Oh, No... I was just saying something that a breeder of shih tzu and poodles thought at my job.... I was in you all shoes and she was in the ones I was in today. I just wanted to see what you all thought

Hmm...I do know of a breeder that advertises here that does that... Not someone I would ever buy from. I think it's aweful to breed for such tiny dogs...and also terrible to charge so much money

High priced doesn't always mean better quality..that's for sure. I know a lot of show breeders sell their pet puppies for less than a lot of backyard breeders and pet stores do. EX. Britney Spears payed over $3000 for her yorkie at a petstore...someone traced those puppies back to puppymills out of Oklahoma and surrounding states. And her high-priced yorkies is no where near the quality of a yorkie I know that came from a well-known show breeder for only $800

The truth is some will use a forum like this to advertise. It's free and reaches alot of people. You can gain trust because you can represent yourself anyway you want. The same holds true in so many areas of media now days though. You have to really get to know the breeder. What are they doing to insure that they are breeding healthy, correct examples of the breed? Do you agree with the way that they house and socialize their dogs? Is this someone you can go to when you have questions down the road? These are questions that each consumer must ask themselves before they make such an important purchase. Education is the key in this area as well.
