Thats what Im saying, she had been going to this vet a long time, and Knowing what she did she lisened to him. I would of found me another vet.and she should of known better. What was her vet thinking?

My sons ex GF also let her 6-7 month old female mate with her other pup, they had pups and luckly she and pups made it, But her vet also told her it would be ok, because she was almost 4 lbs. I was so mad, I said thats just a baby. I told her I knew she was going to let them babys mate their first heat, and she did. very sad.

Or such a young girl!! Hope everything turns out fine.

PLEASE use every resource available(minus the vet/s:confused:) and make sure you OVER plan!!
there are MANY knowledgable people on this site..so soak up as much as you can from them!!

My dam is AKC the sire is ACA;

If AKC says sire at 7months and dam at 8 months this must happen to other people also. Mine are at least this age.

First of all I PM'd both Pam and Kathy and have NOT heard from either of them. And I will NOT give up either of my dogs to the breeders. I love my dogs. I didn't get a contract from Pam even when I asked for one.

And what makes you think I'm a child????? I have two grown boys and have had pets my entire life. I think for you to judge me you should KNOW me first!

Yes I breed CHORKIES! I am not sorry one bit. They are wonderful pups and all have very loving homes. And how many of you here on Yorkietalk have told me how cute "Duchess" is????

Ok now if the bashing is done...

I have set an appointment for Lacie to have xrays done between 55 and 58 days so we will know the size and number of pups. A c-section will be done if the vet finds them too large.
I have his home number as well as his cell number in case of emergercey.
I have all the items listed on the birthing web site that was suggusted here. and have another breeder (who has breed for over 15 years) near to help if needed.

If you have any other information I would love to hear it.

But I do hope you realize that your baby's life is now in severe danger and she could DIE if you let her carry these puppies. Are you aware that there is a possibility that you will LOSE your dog? That's something you have to think about before you breed, ever.

I'm praying for your puppy (Because that's what she is, a puppy). I do hope all goes well with the pregnancy, if you decide to go through with it. No dog should be bread on every heat cycle, and shame on your breeder for doing that. I don't know what you, your vets, or your breeders were thinking saying its OK to breed a 3#, 9 month old baby.


And if you think this is harsh, then consider yourself lucky that I didn't say what I'm really thinking.

I answered your questions in an earlier post, but I had to come back and tell you how sorry I am that your getting more negative responses then helpful ones.

Although I agree this breeding is a mistake and should never have happened, I find the most important thing right now is the healthy and safety of your female. If theres anything I can do to help you please feel free to ask me, send me a pm anytime.

Now have you considered aborting this litter?? Are you fully aware at the high risk of death your putting your female at?? Perhaps now that you have seen peoples explanation of what harm can come to your female you should seriously reconsider allowing this wehlping to take place. Well whatever your decision is ultimately it is your choice and we should be here to support you in a positive way for the well being of your girl. I hope this post becomes more helpful to you as you get more insight into the dangers you can be faced with!

OP, I don't know you and up until now I watched this thread and kept my thoughts to myself...I've been waiting to see how you would respond to much of the advice given here.

Here are my thoughts. We all are learning new things everyday. I have learned SO much about the care of yorkies since I got Ginger just 3 years ago. Yet I had been a pet owner my entire life. In order to learn how to be do the absolute BEST by my furkids, I needed to let go of some of my preconcieved ideas about it. I would NEVER even consider breeding unless I was prepared to devote myself entirely to learning the best, most ethical practices.

You have a great opportunity here at YT to ask advice from some experienced and dedicated breeders. Yet, it seems, you (like many others) do not wish to hear what their real opinions/advice are (such as to get a new vet and to not let this baby have puppies). Instead, you want to hear what they would do in this situation. But the reality is, they wouldn't let their dogs get into this situation in the first place. Please, consider that much of what is being said here IS the best advice.

Finally, and this is not to be mean, just to inspire thought for anyone out their considering breeding. THOUSANDS of unwanted yorkies end up in rescue each year. There are many reasons for this, but one big contributor is the number of dogs being bred. I, for one, wish that everyone would leave breeding to the serious, ethical, "doing it for the improvement of the breed" breeders.

How is it that she has been breeding chorkies that she needs help when breeding a Yorkie? Or did she wait until they were 1` year old instead of 8 months? Or maybe the chorkie parents were much bigger than 3 lbs? Her vet must be an idiot. Even most people with just a little common sense know not to breed an 8 month old, 3 lbs girl. Well, whats done is done. Maybe a new knowledgable vet is on the horizon.

and after 1150 posts and been on YT for awhile too. Was nothing learned about breeding tinies and under 18 months of age?

My thinking is that the vet meant that when she is older, if she gets big enough, she will be OK for breeding. I seriously hope that he didn't mean to run out and let them breed right away.

Did you at least get the proper testing done?

Her sister had the female chihuahua - she had the male yorkie. I don't think she was responsible for the actual birth

Sorry, I must have mis-read!!! I thought she was breeding the chorkies. but there is still enough info here on YT to know better than to breed tiny and so young. But, hopefully all will go well. Good luck on the up-coming litter.

In post #69, she states that she breeds chorkies. Thats why I thought she was experienced at breeding toy dogs.

Why post and ask for advise and then disregard it and do what you want anyway?

Whether or not the dogs are AKC or what AKC says about age, this person was not too bright in her breeding practices; stating the dog wasn't AKC didn't really change the fact that the two pups were too small, too young, and at risk.

I know now why I avoided this thread. I rarely post but I do read alot and whether this sounds harsh or not all the advice in the world won't change anything in this situation. Sorry, but this person sounds like an impatient child wanting what they want NOW. I haven't read all the posts but I am hoping whomever sold her these babies can do something to get them back.
All the education in the wworld won't make a difference for some people
and to provide additional support only serves some people as a reward for further attention.

There is a good thing about having a thread like this. All the advise and knowledge given about why this is sooo wrong to do to these poor babies. This is a great source of information for new members, new pet owners, wannabe breeders, etc, that may not know the reasons why these little creatures should not be bred so small. Education dear people, you have offered that here and I applaud that :thumbup: :thumbup: (speaking to all breeders or non-breeders who have offered up the reasons why this was just so not right) IMHO, it is because we LOVE and care about dogs that we are going to jump in and try to protect them. Harsh words or kind words, if even one person can be stopped from risking the life or lives of these innocent little creatures, then it is worth it. I can only hope this little girl comes out of this safely.

I read the first page and have jumped to the last 1 here. I no what is being said in the 4 pages in between. And I can guess that it is not what you want to hear. Well im always the type to sit back and look at this type of question with both my eyes open and quite a lot of understanding.
But you have absolutely put me into shock. I cant believe that you would breed a puppy, OMG you are being so irresponsible. I mean she is only a baby herself, how can you expect her to be a good Mother when she has so little experience of life herself. How can you expect a puppy who am assuming just wants to play all day herself to be calm enough to give those wee puppy\'s all the love, care and attention they need.
SHAME ON YOU. Puppy mill just comes to my mind!!!!!!! I am sorry but thats all I can say to you.
