No, this is what you call working with a new breed. The Biewer still evolving from the original parents have thrown the two colors in the head. Many Biewer offspring with the same lines came with two colors in the head. Interesting, their offspring threw the 3 colors. You may find it surprising as you generate move offspring with different lines you will get the 2 colors in the head. It is very interesting to watch from a breeders stand point.

They were and are still splitters coming out of Germany. I would still love to see a picture of him. The one I had an opportunity to buy threw the Biewer colors. He was to die for but too large.

Well then wouldn't that just mean that they did not adhere to the standard that was set, rather than the standard should be changed to include them? :confused:

I guess the same question could be directed at the change for the required weight?

No, standards always change. Breeders know that who are championing a new breed. You know that.

While it's possible to obtain biewer coloring from a splitter being bred to a biewer...the odds are still 50/50 on the results. A splitter has both dominant and recessive genes to offer in any breeding.

Sorry, maybe someone else could address that with actual coherent answer...:) (As opposed to just avoiding the question via trying to insult others.) I guess I was unaware that only those who are "championing a new breed" are intelligent enough to understand such issues.

Oh, I'm sorry, I keep forgetting my audience. Ok, the Germans breed Biewers to Yorkies and they call it the Yorkshire Terrier a la pom pon. In America, most breeders are breeding Biewer to Biewer "only" and call it the Biewer a la pom pon. Does this not constitute a new breed? If not, please explain? And please don't be nasty :)

LOL...and I keep forgetting that you can't just ask a question and get a simple answer.

I am sorry, but this has absolutely NOTHING to do with the question I asked in post #470, which was in regards to changing the standard to accomodate for dogs being produced that did not adhere to the standard as it was already written.

While some german breeders may breed back to yorkshire terriers...biewer colored puppies produced are still called...Biewer Yorkshire Terriers a la pom pon.

The BYTC is the only US breed club which has changed the name.

Ok, answer to question #470. The standard was never really set if you know the real history of the Biewer Terrier. LOL

Ah, I see. So those who are working with Biewer Terriers wrote the first "real" set standard then? Seeing as those dogs are relatively a new concept, makes me wonder what standard Biewers were being bred to before....hmm... I don't think that there are many who "know the real history of the Biewer Terrier", except maybe those who follow that line of thinking....;)
