Hi Jan, I not trying to be difficult, but you say each is sporting a three colored head and I don't see the white in the heads of the 2 middle dogs.

Is it just the angle of the camera? They all are beautiful dogs regardless.

Since I do know the photographer of this photo, I can tell you that the two middle dogs do have white on their muzzles, chins, which of course is part of the head piece. Yes the photo was taken in a somewhat dimly lit room. They sure are beautiful

I am somewhat confused by this post. Does this mean that if you start breeding some other anomaly you will change your 'standard' again? This seems to be more of a revolving standard instead of the normal evolving standard based on years of breeding and the normal evolution of a breed.

That is like saying the face is not part of the head. You tell a person to wash their face. The face and the chin both make up part of the head.

The definition of chin is the lowest part of the face.

Well, you maybe right.. if that's the only reason you went and changed the standard it was for naught as this is considered a tri colored head.

The female in the middle to the right when you look at the photo is my Cleopatra. She CAME from Germany with her Weltshconheits Champoninship, (she has since completed her bronze in the States.) Also 6 best in shows. In Germany, the standard is the tri colored head. I don't believe that the country of origin would misread their standard or not understand its content. It would seem to me that they considered the white she displays as correct.
