Thankfully...I would hope everyone would as it would be unwise to do otherwise. However, YT has had it's fair share. My point being, off MY personal experience...you are the first three who have bothered to stop and carry on an intelligent converstion about them without lashing out because someone asked a question. There are not enough people UNITED, behind the push to get it recognized. The information and research being presented to them and the AKC is very minimal andn not enough to be taken seriously and considered.
Well as you said there are a lot of scammers out there so building a database of serious parti breeders is going to take a while. at one time there were only 3 in any one group. You have to have 3 or 5 before you can have 500.

I find it interesting that with all of the yorkie breeders out there and as long as the YTCA has been around that there are only a little over 500 members.

You are absolutely right. I would assume and hope that once that number increases and you have alot of people w/ evidence backing their claims and on the same page, then you will have a much better shot of making a change.:thumbup:

I would suspect the sudden popularity of the breed, increase in scammers and millers and decrease in the percentage who want to actually protect the standards would have a great deal to do with it.

Because it is comprised mostly of serious exhibitor/breeders, with a few pet owners...the process in becoming a member is a long one....yes, it's not perfect and some members are not reputable, but have fallen through the cracks. However, in the last couple of years it has become more stringent in who is allowed into membership

True. I am sure for alot of people (not you 3) it's going to be a blow as I suspect there are alot out there who have more than Yorkie in what they are breeding.:(

Oh I am very sure of that. It just seems that far too many of them have all of a sudden popped up out of nowhere.

Sue..you completely misunderstood what I was trying to say...digging for gold was not meant for Nikko, I must have said it very poorly...for this reason I will not respond to any more of this thread..I do not want to be accused of bashing or being anti-Biewer...I still might be talked into showing her...

I have known so many pet and show breeders in 35 yrs...but never saw a Parti color until a friend bought a German Biewer...doesn't mean no one ever had them...

I am in full sympathy with your delima......

and you are right anyone who has requested to join and has been accepted should be prepared to stand, uphold and abide by the bylaws, code of ethics and conduct. If membership is taken seriously it is a big responsibility....and remember everything that is voted on must be passed by a majority 2/3 vote

I'm sure that you'd feel that way if and when your goals are accomplished and a National Breed Club were established.

I'm sorry too, I had a wink at the end of my comment ... I'm sorry if you thought I was mad at what you said because I really wasn't. I guess that's one big problem with writing, you can't see when the writer is smiling and just enjoying a good debate.

Funny how alot of people on this post want to bash the YTCA. If it werent for the YTCA, the Yorkie wouldnt be what it is today. Its the people that dont breed to the standard that have caused the most problems to the Yorkie and how it is represented and perceived. Most of the show breeders/ dedicated hobby breeders are breeding for the purpose of improving the breed and staying within the standards set by the YTCA. It has been the onslot of byb's, mills and people breeding only for the $$$$$$$$$ that have ruined this breed and are breeding dogs that dont even look like a Yorkie.

:( Awww, we were doing so well and getting along so nicely. I just have to cringe everytime that statement is made, "You have runied this breed.". Ugh! I could never look at this breed, regardless the color,and say that it has been \'ruined\'. I have seen you write this in other posts as well.
