Help!!! I may be on my way to the vet shortly. Ginger is has had a few signs of getting ready to whelp but in 15 hours has had no contractions whatsoever. I just noticed something in her hair and near her vulva, no real discharge to speak of. I wiped it with a warm damp cloth and it came off green. A bright green in some areas though it was so dark on her fur that I thought it might have been dark red or brown. I am so concerned, I can still hear heartbeats but don't know how much green, what color of green and if any is ok before birth. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Positive thought are also welcomed. Thank you

Green discharge before any pups is a red flag I would call your vet ASAP and get her there for a check

I hope you have been able to get to the vet... please update us when you have time. I have heard that any green before birth is not a good sign, but after the birth of the first pup there will be some green discharge. I hope it all goes well, and the mom and pups are doing ok. ~Brenda

Ginger did have to have a c-section. The vet just called and she and the pups are through the surgery just fine. She has four baby girls... one is smaller than the rest and they were unsure that she would make it but she was doing fine at the time I talked with the vet. Thank you all for your support....D

I am so relieved to hear all are ok 4 little girls what a blessing, mom may not feel well for a couple of days after a section keep a good eye on the little ones and make sure they are nursing, our female had a section and did not take to much to the pups till the 2nd day she has been through alot and will want your extra care and love, congratulations again keep us posted and put up pics of your new little ones would love to see the little darlings. I had to coax my female to eat the first couple of days after that she was back to herself.

| CONGRATULATIONS, ON THE 4 NEW LITTLE GIRLS!!!!!!! Good action on your part noticing something was not quite right and getting her prompt medical attention immediately. Please share pictures when you get the new mama and her babies all settled in.
