| I"m not as anal as Mary LOL Only thing I do when I come home from a show is wash my hands and take off what I was showing in before going to the puppies. I never wash down my equipment so far no problems I'm just not as anal. I think they build immunities up if a little exposed JMHO. Not to say I'm not cautious I am but not to most extremes.Donna |

They do develop immunities...but, when I have a litter of puppies in the house I don't want to take any chances.

| I wasn't anal with my daughter or granddaughter so I'm not as anal with the dogs. I let nature take it's course to a certain extent. I'm cautious just not anal. LOL Donna |

When hubby and I were dating, we went away for a weekend...kids had left a glass of milk on the coffee table...when we came back the milk hadn't even curdled.....to this day hubby jokes that germs weren't allowed to live in the house.

So Not sure what to think about breeders giving shots..the laws do not care if you dog dies of parvo, but they have to have rabies by a vet...rabies can hurt humans..parvo only kills the dog...well mine lived after a lot of money, ended up with a weak stomach. pooh's mum

If your dog got Parvo two months after you got it, then it did not come from the breeders house. Nor did it come from the shot the breeder gave her after that long a time.

However, there are other factors that figure in....One must know that innoculating against Parvo doesn't guarantee they won't get it.....but, it should be a milder case of it....that is if the vaccines were given at the right intervals...you have to know what went on with the pup.....Just can't make a blanket statement......when were the shots given, were the full compliment of shots given before the pup was taken out in public...... I just read recently from another yorkie breeder...that she had titers done.....some of the pups tested with the right amount of immunities and others didn't.....the only difference was that the dogs that registered lower were given vaccines from a different manufactorer.
