Runts generally do not have any more problems than the others and often, don't stay the smallest. I had two tiny ones in my last litter and both are doing great and i consider, I had no runt since I had two. you do have to watch the smaller puppies closerr and make sure they are eating and etc. You also might need to get a harness or collar with a small bell on it to let you know where she is all the time and not underfoot.

Thanks for the information. My neighbors got a puppy a few months ago and they put a little collar on him with a bell...he still wears it and he isn't in danger of getting stepped on anymore. But the little sound is his signiture, I guess. That's how my roommmate and I know he's out for his walk.

Hello again to everyone. I have more questions....hahha, when do I not! Anyway, the breeder gave me a written pedigree of the sire and dame, but when I tried to do a google search, only one name came up. I don't know if I should be worried, or if the information on Mexican champions isn't posted online. Here is what she told me:

Sire: his name is Jimmy from the VonStutenpferch line. He is a son of the Mexican Champion Freddi (Montiel...not sure if that's the line name) and grandson of Mexican Champion Antaeus (Macias) and Mexican Champion International Merlin VonStutenpferch and Mexican Champion Samara.

Dame: her name is Mila from Dolce Sinfonia. She is a descendant of the Mexican Champion Pareon's Stitched by the Devil, Mexican Champion and Grand Mexican Champion Burgandy Wee Alan and Mexican Champion Dolce Sinfonia Inspiration.

I managed to find Dolce Sinfonia Inspiration on the Dolce Sinfonia website, but the others, I couldn't find anything. Does anyone have any information? I was told in an earlier post that pedigrees can be faked...Thanks again for everyone's help. I spoke to the breeder earlier to get directions and confirm that I am going tomorrow. She told me the larger girl is already spoken for, but the tinnier one is still available. I guess I'll see tomorrow.

Okay, so today was the day I was going to go see the breeder and her puppies. I was so happy and excited and couldn't wait for 4:30 to come around (that's the time we were leaving to go see them). My friend and I took a cab to the breeder's house and right away I got a bad feeling. The area we went to, wasn't the best part of town, but I let that one go. When the breeder's son opened a tiny window on the door to see who was there, I immediately got a wiff of a super strong doggie smell. I guess having a doggie smell in the house is normal, but this was concentrated. I also heard a lot of barking in the background. We went into the house and behind a closed door I could hear more barking. The breeder led us into this room where she had the puppies and their dad in a kennel (or cage...looked more like a cage to me). The first thing I noticed was all of the kibble on the floor under the cage and the newspaper it was falling on was all wet. It looked like it had been that way for a while. There was a lot of food thrown on the bottom. It didn't look like the puppies had just eaten and thrown their food all over...it looked like they had been doing that for a while. The little girl the breeder brought out was shaking like crazy when they put her down on the floor. It seemed like she had never been let out of the cage. They brought out one of her brothers and he was super playful, but she wasn't. So I started asking the breeder some questions. She showed me the parent's pedigrees on what looked like official papers. I asked to see the dame and she told me that she had passed away during the C-section they had to do. I asked her how they had raised the puppies and she said she and her kids took turns feeding them. I then asked her what kind of health issues Yorkies had and she told me none! Haha, yeah right. My friend immediately knew I had asked this as a sort of a trick question for the breeder. I asked her how many dogs she had total and she answered with, "not a lot." Strange answer. She later told me she had 8 breeding females and 2 studs. She didn't even let me go and see the other dogs. I'm guessing they were probably locked in cages too. On the plus side, she did show me the puppy's vaccination and deworming records. The puppy had also been microchipped and tatooed (this seems to be done a lot in Mexico).
But overall, I think I just visited a puppymill. The dad, the picture I posted in the first post did not look like that picture. He looked unkept and his hair was not silky like she had advertised, but instead was very wavy. The puppy was very dirty. Her hair felt very oily. It didn't seem she had been given a bath in a long time, if at all. She's also almost 4 months old, but her silver is starting to come in. I don't know if that's at the age when that happens. I'm going to post some pictures of the puppy and her father. Compare the one of the dad to the one I originally posted.
But so far, my impression is not good at all.

I spoke to a top breeder here in Mexico and I asked him what his prices were...he told me $2200. I told him that was a little out of my budget and thanked him for his time. But before I hung up he asked me what my budged was and I told him $1000, plus or minus a bit. He told me to stop looking for a Yorkie. He said I should just save that money and buy a different breed because I wasn't going to get a well bred dog for so little. I guess he might be right...

Yorkie's tails are typically docked at a few days old, no? The puppies I saw today all had tails and I pointed this out to the breeder. Her answer, "I can run to the vet right now and they can dock it in a minute. If you want her, let me know so I can run over there right now." I don't know about the standard practice, but I don't think a tail docking at 4 months could be done in a minute. Plus, to put an older puppy through that....

My impression from the pictures is that the pup will have a silk coat as indicated by the blue eye shine. I doesn't look to have a nice ear set and since it is breaking color so early it will probably be light in color as an adult. Are you looking for a pet or a showdog? I would not purchase it as a show potential but if you are sure that it is from good healthy stock it may make a nice, if a bit timid, pet.
The pic of the sire makes me just want to say, "Hey, he wants out. Let him out! I hate to see them caged.

Hello, I just sent an email to the Dolce Sinfonia email address at: info@dolcesinfonia.com and they answered there was No dog named or registered Mila from Dolce Sinfonia. They also do not have any of those names in their dogs' background. What is the name of this breeder? I suggest you to be careful and to check the pedigree very well. It may be fake. Can you request a copy? I may suggest you to contact the Dolce Sinfonia directly. They are located in California. Good Luk.

OMG girl RUN away from this place!! Everything is wrong...you have to trust your gut on this one..those poor doggy's..and tails have to be docked within a few days not months..you will find the yorkie for you..just not there!! Keep looking here on YT and something will come up..

I also contacted Dolce Sinfonia. Ms. Parisi replied to me and told me she had only sent one dog into Mexico 10 years ago, Inspiration. The mother had that doggie as her great grand father, I think. But the breeder said she got them from Italy and I don't know if she's ever lived in Mexico City. It was strange. And her wanting to dock that puppy's tail at 4 months...! I thought that at that age it requires major surgery, not just a little anesthesia on the tail. I am starting to think that I'll never find a puppy in my price range who is well bred with silky hair. I looked in my local newspapers in California and the puppies are all over $1500, especially the tinnier ones. Last night I was starting to seriously consider buying a Chihuahua instead, but I keep thinking of the little pink bows I bought for my future Yorkie girl and I change my mind about the Chis.
Before I went to see the puppies yesterday I was reading the post about how everyone chose their Yorkies. Well, I read so many stories of the puppies running up to everyone, etc. and when they brought out the little girl and she immediately tried to crawl away from people, I just decided that this one wasn't the baby for me. I told when my friend, when you hear me take a deep breath in, then you'll know that I found my puppy and I'm going to go home with her. But so far.... I guess I never realized how hard it is to find a puppy. Wanting one takes no effort whatsoever. Except for researching, etc. But looking, that's something else. I guess if it's meant to be, it's meant to be. The reason why I seriously started looking was because one Sunday morning, I went to church, a lot earlier then I usually do. And when I came out, I saw a man holding a little Yorkie puppy. He said he was watching him for his owner who was inside the church. I thought, this has to be a sign that I have to have a Yorkie. But if it's meant to be, I guess it will happen.

WOW a fraud!! Liang about the paper to make the extra $$!!! I am glad you did not take that puppy. I hope you are going to find the baby of your dreams.

just wondering u.s.a allows dogs from mexico? i dont know the custom's law that well.

Hi. As far as I know, you can bring your pets from Mexico to the U.S. All that is required is a vet check stating the puppy is in good health, vaccination records that are up to date and the rabbies vaccine on puppies older than 3 months. Then, you also need to check with the airlines that the maximum amount of pets allowed on a flight hasn't been exceeded. That's all, as far as I know.

In the long run if you have to pay a bit more for a pup from a honest breeder you are way ahead. Honest breeders will stand behind their pups and dishonest ones will blow you off and you could have thousands in vet bills, plus the heartache of a sick puppy. If you need to wait a bit longer and save your money. YT had many great breeders that I'm sure could help you find a pup.

I'm sorry it didnt work out. Don't settle for another breed if a yorkie is what you really want. Sometimes it takes a lot of time to find the right puppy. Why don't you start to look for a puppy in the US? I know there are a lot of breeders on YT, and I've seen some for less than or just over $1000.

I'm just going to wait and watch YT like a hawk for an available puppy. I really do want a Yorkie. Earlier last month, I went to the store and saw these adorable pink bows. I ended up buying them for the puppy that I didn't have, but hoped to get soon. I have them saved in a little container that I've already reserved for the puppy's bows and hair things. I know my puppy is always going to have her hair done up in bows. I guess I just never realized how long searching takes. I expected to come home with a puppy right away. One of my friends decided she wanted a Yorkie one day and she got one after wanting one for like 2 weeks. And for a good price (her's was a Yorkie/ Silky mix). She even managed to talk the breeder down from the price. It's not fair!!! Oh well...I'll keep searching.
