Yorkie's tails are typically docked at a few days old, no? The puppies I saw today all had tails and I pointed this out to the breeder. Her answer, "I can run to the vet right now and they can dock it in a minute. If you want her, let me know so I can run over there right now." I don't know about the standard practice, but I don't think a tail docking at 4 months could be done in a minute. Plus, to put an older puppy through that....
