| ![]() I've never done this! In fact, I admit, I've never even thought of it as an holiday option. Do cruise ships even allow dogs? If so, I'd assume you still need you Dog Passport at each port if you wanted to go inland? I'd definately be interesting in hearing more about this ![]()

| ![]() It's just like a people passport. It has photo, description of pet and any special markings, microchip information, shot & rabies record.

| ![]() Cruise ships do not allow pets. A few select lines have kennels for transatlantic crossings- dogs are stored in kennel facilities similar to those on land and can be visited with there only, they cannot be removed from the facility. I cruise often and am no more concerned about cruise safety now then I was before the Concordia disaster. As a matter of fact I booked my next cruise the day after the accident.

| ![]() I worked on cruise ships for 3 years. LOVED it ![]() Unfortunately, the only pets I saw were service...and the only ones I knew of are as Kazzy said of just a few hours. I know Cunard used to on select cruises, but I believe they stopped? The only exception I can think of is if it's a charter (private) cruise. YT should get together and do one! ![]()

However, I wish we could charter a YT cruise! How cool would that be?

| ![]() In the UK the veterinarian provides the passport and certifies all the details.

| ![]() It's funny this thread came up. My co-workers and I were talking about cruises and I know I would not go on a cruise unless Giz was allowed. Glad to know that it's not an option. A girl can dream! ![]()

| ![]() Love your input people, OK this is what I found out, from pettravel.com, in the US and Canada, no pet passports per say, BUT, your vet can help you to put together something that will do for one, record of shots, micro chip #'s etc., if you are going to anywhere in the EU THEY have a pet passport just like a people one, that one you also get at the vet with appropriate forms and stuff. The cruise its self, this is Carnival cruise, NO PETS, service animals only, or a specialty cruise that would feature animals kinda thing. Many "ports of call" in other countries would have quarantine rules so they could not go ashore, the always check with the locals, info. So this means unless you have a service dog, no cruising with the dog. ![]() ![]()
