No Longer a Member | ![]() Happy Veterans day weekend...or so I thought... Woke up Friday morning with mysterious blisters all over hands and feet...went to the ER afraid that I may be having an allergic reaction to something mysterious and find out that I have hand, foot, and mouth disease (usually reserved for persons 10 and under, but somehow I caught it though I don't live, work, or breathe anywhere near children) Saturday morning boyfriend and I decide to go Thanksgiving dinner shopping, walk out to my car and *gasp* somebody busted the window and stole my GPS, my Kwigy-bo, a coat that I bought in Venice, and last but not least, my laptop (jokes on them, my charger is at home and it erases memory upon 10 bad password attempts)...also on the weird side, they stole my insurance information ![]() I can't help but be incredibly freaked that these people know where I live because they have my GPS...I'm really hoping that they just stole it to sell it, but they have officially taken from me my sense of security. I've let my landlord know that they may try to break in my house so she will keep an eye out, plus their shepherd. I'm still not comforted by this, but it's about the best I can do for now, my alarm system is set to trigger upon movement, so thanks to the cat and Rizzo I cant set it. Also talked to one place, they said about $500 if not more, to fix my window because they have to order it and have it shipped, plus all the laborious hours they'll have to put into fixing it...this place is so full of crooked people that I am dying to leave ![]() I got home this morning (Sunday) and lo and behold, my cat is still peeing on everything. The foster kitty found her new home a week ago so I thought he would lighten up, but it seems like he is just getting worse ![]() On the upside... Oh right...there is no upside right now or I'm just to angry to think of one. ![]() |

| ![]() Wow -- you have every right to be a bit upset over so much going wrong. I am so sorry to hear you were robbed like that. I understand the sense of violation and the way they steal so much more than the tangible things they carry off. Many, many years ago my apartment was robbed. They took the only things I had of any value -- stero, TV and a big wall clock. They were so insulting, they actually took my records off the player and threw them on the floor. Guess they did not like my taste in music. But I had to move soon after that as I could never feel right in the apartment again. Hope insurance comes through for you and gives you replacement value on your things. Thinking of living in Italy sounds so exotic to me, I had never considered the down side. But crime is still rampant here too -- too many wanting something for nothing. ![]() Can't offer anything other than sympathy for the cat peeing on things. I have enough trouble with housetraining my yorkies. ![]() Praying things get better for you starting today!

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | ![]() Wow that is one heck of a wkend. First I hope you heal quickly from hand foot mouth disease. ONe idea about the cat peeing. Mine will do that if there is another cat who comes by and marks near the windows of our home. I hope that insurance comes through quickly. I too would be freaked about the theives having my addy. They do say that dogs barking make the best alarm system. Hoping for a pleasant Sunday for you and your furbutts.

| ![]() So sorry this happened to you. We were robbed at the beginning of Oct. and you do feel so violated. After that we got a security system and have motion sensors. You might want to check and see how yours are set. They set ours to accommodate for the dogs. I guess we are not safe anywhere. When we were in Rome my son alerted a guy that a woman was trying to pick his pocket.

No Longer a Member | ![]() I've been giving my house a good scrubbing, and when my landlady gets back I'll see if she can help me figure out this alarm system, there are a lot of bells and whistles on it and whenever I start messing with it, it goes off...Thanks for the kind words...I guess it is entirely possible that my landlords cat does come around the house and pee's, plus I think she went into heat...again (I've offered to take her to my vet to have her spayed, but they just wont do it??) so there are most likely some males running around here. I did find an upside to this, I'm so anxious that I can't stop cleaning. ![]() Glad you guys understand about the violation, my bf doesn't really get it, he's all "its just stuff", but he's also never been robbed. *knocks on wood* Thanks again for letting me rant, it's why I love this forum ![]() |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | ![]() oh wow, you've had one heck of a bad weekend. I'm so sorry you were robbed. I'd be pissed as all hell too. As far as the cat pee situation, i know exactly what you are feeling right now. My cat (spayed female) will pee on any type of fabric. She's pee'd on my couch, my bed, her bed, morgan's beds, morgan's blankets, and towels and sheets left on the floor by the laundry (clean and dirty). I took her to the vet hoping it was just a UTI when this first started but she was clean. there is no medical reason behind the peeing. Vet said i just had a "dirty" cat ![]() ![]() anyway, sorry to right such a long post on your bad weekend thread. Not trying to hijack it. But as soon as i read your story about the cat i immediately felt your pain. Just wanted to let you know how i'm handling our situation. its the only things i've found to work for us. i hope your luck turns around soon.

No Longer a Member | ![]() No worries, I totally appreciate that about your cat. My only problem is the only place that I can keep him that will keep him from peeing on "my stuff" is the bathroom, and it's much to small for a cat his size....I love my cat, he is the cuddliest kitty on the planet and has a great personality, just the peeing all over the place. He's been neutered since he was 8 months old according to the vet, I think this is probably why he's had 6 different owners over the past 6 years of his life. I think that is mainly the reason I know I can't find him a new home...ugh such a stink situation. I've even been spraying that "feliway" stuff around the house every day 2x a day. Stuff isn't cheap either, and has yet to start working. They did say it doesn't work in all cases, but geeze, can't I catch a break? |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | ![]() I feel your pain. I was mugged 25 years ago and I still feel the terror I had the fret few nights knowing these guys had my address and my keys - even though I had the locks changed. The first night I sat awake on the sofa all night with a big knife in my hand. (that was before I had any pets.) |

| ![]() I am sorry that you are having so many problems this weekend. To think I was b*tching about the flavor of a birthday cake. ![]()

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | ![]() All I can say is I am sorry, any one of those things individually would be bad enough ![]() I hope you get to feeing better soon, maybe the thieves will try to pawn your lap top and gps and you will get those things back.. I try not to leave any thing of real value in plain sight in my car anymore. A few years ago some teenagers went up and down our street, robbing people who only left their vehicles unlocked...I am the worlds worst about not locking my car, but hubby pays attention to detail and will lock my car when he walks by to get in the truck...anyway, my neighbor lost her cell phone, her wallet with $200 in it, her ipod touch (this is when they first come out), her gps, and a WHOLE CASE of Circle E candles that she sells for $22 each...she was in tears. The man across the street lost his whole paycheck that was cashed in his wallet, but they were kind enough to throw the wallet in the ditch. I remember feeling violated at just the thought of "bad people" being so close to my house when I had never been scared before. The kids were arrested, but my neighbor never recovered any of her items. |

No Longer a Member | ![]() I don't keep anything in plain sight in my car, my laptop was under the seat, the GPS was in my center console, they must've seen the little sticky disk on the windshield, saw that it was a new car and decided there must be something of value in there. I did have the kwigy-bo just sitting the the back seat and I'm sure they must've thought it was a purse...I still can't believe they stole my coat though, it only cost me 80 euro in Venice but it's just a plain ol' coat, nothing exciting about it. I just liked it because it was a cute coat, and I forgot to pack one for our trip up. I hope they do get caught, but the way crime is out here I doubt they'll even look. I'm going to file my report today, but it's mostly for insurance purposes...this is such a junky situation, I barely got any sleep at all last night, and I was keeping Rizzo awake, lol. I'd pull out my kindle to start reading and he'd curl up closer to me, throw his little head on my stomach and sigh super loud. He didn't even want to get out of bed this morning, haha. Lazy bug, ever since he got to start sleeping in my bed, he's turned into a late waker-uper. |

| ![]() Not to add to your troubles, but if I were you I would not go away & leave my dog in the house. It is typical for the thieves to rob you after they steel the GPS and they often take the little dogs to resell them. You might look into a doggy daycare.
