Wow -- you have every right to be a bit upset over so much going wrong. I am so sorry to hear you were robbed like that. I understand the sense of violation and the way they steal so much more than the tangible things they carry off. Many, many years ago my apartment was robbed. They took the only things I had of any value -- stero, TV and a big wall clock. They were so insulting, they actually took my records off the player and threw them on the floor. Guess they did not like my taste in music. But I had to move soon after that as I could never feel right in the apartment again.

Hope insurance comes through for you and gives you replacement value on your things. Thinking of living in Italy sounds so exotic to me, I had never considered the down side. But crime is still rampant here too -- too many wanting something for nothing.

Can't offer anything other than sympathy for the cat peeing on things. I have enough trouble with housetraining my yorkies. But I an imagine that problem was even harder to deal with after the robbery.
