| ![]() I know how you feel ... I have an extremely picky Maltese, could never get her to eat well until I tried NV raw about 6 months ago. She eats it immediately, as soon as I put it down, and has never turned her nose up at it. It makes things so much easier when they eat well. I finally found something she'll eat now that she's a little old lady of 14 years. ![]()

PS: They also have frozen medallions but they aren't as travel friendly.

This is how I did it: Use a collapsable soft sided cooler that is rated to keep things frozen for 24 hours; use "Techni-ice" which are the chemical ice packs to keep things cold (they don't melt). Put the cooler in the freezer a few days prior to departure. On departure AM, zip lock your food supply and pack it in the cooler with the chemical ice packs. Put it into your checked luggage. We traveled 11 hours into the Caribbean and Rem's food arrived cold and still frozen, and I had a 10 day supply. Worked like a charm. | |

| ![]() I had the same experience with Vinnie when I started him on Nature's Variety raw medallions about 5 years ago. He was recovering from a horrible case of pancreatitis and turned his nose up at just about everything. His feeding issues were literally driving me crazy. Anyway, I tried the medallions on a whim and he scarfed them down the first time. They helped him put on some weight and he's been a healthy little guy ever since. I love the raw diet concept and the mendallions are VERY convenient. I use their freeze-dried foods (along with Stella & Chewy's) whenever we travel. I recommend both products to everyone.

| ![]() I have been curious about raw for my boys and have found a place fairly close to me that carries NV. The only reason I haven't started them on it may sound crazy to most folks ( but those who live on the coast know what I'm saying!). This is now prime hurricane season and when we do get hammered by one the power is off for at least 1-2 weeks. I don't want to start them on something and then abruptly stop. This time of year here sucks! ![]() |

| ![]() What do those of you that have small babies - 4 to 5 lb range, do about the raw bones in the NV raw? I have been feeding my male the medallions but have found some larger size bone fragment in them that have scared me, so each time I feed, I meticulously go thru and pick out the larger size fragments. I feed him twice a day and this has become rather time consuming, but some of these fragments are sharp like little needles and sort of long. He loves the raw and I hate to change his diet now. |

You can feed them just like they are (I break mine up into shreds and put it on top of their kibble) or you can add water and it become a soft food. I didn't realize this either until I recently started to use Stella and Chewy's. The other neat thing is my Pet Value started selling 100% dried fruits and veggies. They are called Garcie's Garden and they come in apple, banana, carrot, and sweet potatoe. My three LOVE the apple slices! I use these now as a treat rather than the other treat options that are out there for dogs.

![]() However, when I was calling around my local stores, two of them offered to carry it for me if I found that I liked it.
