| ![]() I am going to Japan for family emergency. So I am heading to Chicago this Friday to drop Haruka off and flying to Japan on Saturday. Chicago Chicago Chicago.. yes at Patti's house. She will be there 10 days. Then my bf is picking her up in Chicago and keeping her for 16 days. He will be traveling between Boston and NY every week. Many colleagues offer to watch her.. my reaction was "hmmmm.. thanks.." People want to watch her because she is well behaved at work...... but not sure.. if they can really take care of her.. It is nice that they offered though. So I am packing stuff for Haruka for Chicago trip and New York trip. I leave her only two days per year. So 3 weeks will be a long time for me. I will definitely miss her. As soon as I come back, I should work on quarantine process so I can take her next time. Has anyone left your yorkie for that long? Trust me, I really don't want to do this.. but I have no choice. Patti and my bf are best options I have! So I know that they will take a good care of her but I will miss her for sure..... Time is clicking that I am leaving this Friday.. yikes! I just want to hear everyone's experience leaving your yorkies.. for some trip like this.

| ![]() Sounds like you are doing the best that you can. Guess I feel what you have planned is much better than boarding her at a kennel. Hope your emergency works itself out and you are back home quickly. Hugs.

| ![]() It is great that you have two people in your life you can trust with your little Yorkie. That should help you feel better. I am taking my son to Disneyland for only 3 days in March, and stressing out about that! My brother will be taking care of Suzi , and he is good with her. Best wishes to you , I am sure this is hard for you, however, you have really done well planning for your puppy.

| ![]() ![]() I'm not braging about it but I was away from Zoe for 12 days over the holidays this year. I visited my boyfriend's mother and family in Texas for Christmas and Zoe stayed with my Mom while we were gone. I hadn't been away from her for more than 5 hours before that and was freaking out about being away from her, But really it wasn't as traumatic as I was afraid it'd be. Zoe was well taken care of while I was gone and while she was very happy to see me she seemed almost unphased by me being gone for so long. It'll be okay!!! Sometimes you've got to do what you need to do and as long as you keep your baby in mind things will work out as they need to! ![]() |

| ![]() I am so sorry that you have to leave her behind, but you know that Patti is going to spoil her & I'm sure your boyfriend will too. She will be okay - and may even have some yorkie fun ![]()

| ![]() I hardly every have to leave my furbabies, but when I do I leave them in my home and have a friend or petsitter come and stay with them there. I feel they will be more comfortable and miss me less that way. I'm so afraid of them getting loose if they are somewhere unfamiliar, trying to find their way home. You are lucky to have dependable close people to watch them. Make sure your tag or microchip info is correct and current, and if God forbid they get lost, know who would be called. Put something in writing for your pet caregivers too, so they would have the authority to claim them. Send along some of your clothing with your scent on it (shirt, robe, etc.) so your furbaby will feel your presence no matter where she is.

| ![]() Michiko...I am so sorry to read that you have a family emergency and I will pray for you and your family. You couldn't find a better person to leave little Haruka with than dear Patti. It's so hard to leave our sweeties, but sometimes it just has to be. She will be so happy to see you when you return. Hugs to you and best wishes for a safe trip.

| ![]() Thank you everyone for all your support and kind words. Leaving Haruka is the biggest thing. I know Patti is going to spoil her too much (which I am afraid of.. hehe..) Her family is one of the sweetest families I know. So I am not worried. Plus Patti is great, she could wash Haruka before my bf picks her up in Chicago. I thought about leaving Haruka with Patti for my entire trip but I realized that she might like to be with my bf.. and also in our home. He travels on Monday and comes back on Thursday. Haruka has been to the particular hotel and particular room at hotel before and stayed there with me. So she is a little familiar with it too. I thought the weekend will be such a great feeling for Haruka to be able to sleep on her own bed (my king size bed...) She has no problem traveling... so I am not too worried about that. This was the best I could come up with. So I just need to figure out how I can be okay without Haruka. I truly will miss her. I thought about possiblity that HAruka would be really upset with me when I return. I also understand that she may have separation anxiety when I return... but I can bring her to work... and I think I can definitely assure her that I am around... and I will do the quarantitine process for sure just in case. It takes 6 months and I know for sure that I cannot travel for 6 months because I will be really broke...

Donating YT 30K Club Member | ![]() I promise not to spoil her too much!! LOL I know how hard it is to leave Haruka and will take the best care of her. I have already told my girls they have to be on their best behaviour. She will be so happy to see you when you return and since you can take her everywhere she shouldn't have any seperations issues afterwards.
