| I just got my first yorkie about 4 weeks ago. I have already had an 8 year old Pekingese named Merlin. Merlin has ran away just two days ago- with no where to be found. We've done EVERYTHING. Called everywhere. He wont turn up. There has been one time before when he got out and ran away for 2 or 3 days, but this time feels different. I know he wasnt adapting to my new Yorkie in the house very well at all. I just really miss him. Maybe he will turn up- he shouldn't have gotten far. Any tips or ideas? thanks.

| I'm so sorry, I hope either that you find him or that he comes home very soon. |

| Post signs and contact the local animal places..vets, shelters etc...Pekes have such short legs, I wouldn't think he got far before someone picked him up...best wishes |

| Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Call animal control to see if they picked him up, call the Humane Society to see if someone turned him in. Find out where your local inpound is and see if he was turned in there. Keep looking, asking and checking everywhere. If he was wearing ID I know in my state you can call DOT and see if they picked him up, they note info on pets they find incase an owner is still looking. (I pray that isn't the case for you little Pup) Our beautiful seal point Ragdoll cat came up missing once (wearing ID) and I went to Kinko after three days and made up flyers with his photo and our info on it and put one on every door on our street. I also noted that he was on meds every day and a children's pet who missed him very much. I walked in the rain all day asking everyone I saw with no result. But by 11:00pm the day I put the flyers out he was back at our house sitting in the driveway. A neighbor called to say he was out there. He was thin and dehydrated but ok. The vet said it looked like he'd been caught in a live trap which alot of people use in our area, or locked up in someone's shed by accident. We believe the flyers may have made some people check for him and when he was found they set him free and he made his way home. Good luck! |

| I called the Humane Society after I posted this and they said that they didn't have anything at all. I left them a Lost Report and they said they'll let me know if anything happens... Two hours later, they said they had a man there with a dog matching my exact description and was responding to the name "Merlin" like I had given. The man had found him in the woods and he was hurt- so i was immediatly in panic mode. We drove out to him, and it was the most pitiful site ever. His hair was in tangles allover and he was wet in some places on his fur. He was constantly crying and howling. He was shaking really bad. I felt so terrible. We signed some forms, micro-chipped him, then brought him home. He was COVERED in deer ticks. We gave him a flea bath and treated him for ticks and things. That was about 5 hours ago... I came home from work and he has been doing excellent! I still have to keep my yorkie pup away from him though just to be safe for the next few days, to mkae sure Merlin is back to normal and the ticks and fleas are gone. [Right now we're not finding any- so that's a plus] Merlin has an appointment for the vet first thing on Monday. I'm so glad he's home! Thanks everyone for your support! THANKS SOOOO MUCH!

| Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Thank God that man turned him in. I am so happy for you and your little dog I hope he gets a good report from the Dr tomorrow. Sounds like he found out there are worse things out there than living with a Yorkie. |

| I Love My Babies Donating Member | I just read this and I was in tears.. then I got to the wonderful outcome. I am so glad he is back and safe. And I'll bet he is happy to be back home. Poor little angel. Hopefully he will settle down now and get used to the new baby. They will probably end up being the best of friends. Praying for a good check up at the Vet's.
