| ![]() I am just needing some advice and possible reasons why my Bella would have done what she had done....Alright Bella who is 8 months old is trained on a training bell on our front door and she caught onto it in the first week and has done wonderful with it, yesterday Jan 22nd...she rang her bell at 4:54pm and went #1, 5:44pm and went #2, 6:20pm went #1, 6:39pm went #1...somewhere in there, Bella got ahold of Uggs and ripped out the inside and I was furious so I really screamed at her....I have never really yelled at her except for strong no. Mind you I heard her again ring the bell at 6:45pm (one time) I did not even have the opportunity to get to the door and she ran by the sliding glass door squatted and poo'd right there in front of me, I could not believe it. I then put her in her crate so I could go get the spotbot steam cleaner so I could clean up the mess, after doing so I let her out of the crate and she ran really fast over by our couch and poo'd another little turd....did not even try to go to the door....I was like OMG what is going on with you (outloud)...I got the little turd an threw it in the garbage and during that time of walking to the garbage can..she ran over to the backside of the other couch and pee'd...again not even trying to go to the door to ring her bell that she knows fully how to use.... I needed to vent...and I hope one of you can explain to me what is going on in her head....do you think I scared the crap (literally) out of her and she got nervous and peed because I screamed at her....that is my only thought. I checked her potty notebook and the last time she had an accident was Dec 7th..early in the morning she poo'd...but that was my fault I had heard her ringing the bell and I was trying to finish my packing because I was leaving for a few days and she decided that she was just gonna go on the carpet...besides that....it has been months since she has had any issues... Any ideas? Thanks, Christina

| ![]() Could she be mad and pouting because you yelled at her?

| ![]() I doubt she's mad at you. Dogs don't seek "revenge" They might get scared or nervous, but they don't plot against you like "I'm going to pee on the floor and see what mommy thinks then, ha!" We treat them like babies but they don't have reasoning skills like kids do... must remember that. I think it's far more likely she is either not feeling well, or that you have thrown off her schedule. Did you give her a new treat or something? When Sammy has an accident it's usually because she had too many treats or a new kid of treat, or we changed her schedule and she ate at the wrong time. Loki has very few accidents, but when he does it's always because he drank too much. He is so good about going outside even if he has diarrhea, so that's good. Is it possible that you yelled at her when she rang her bell again? I know I get frustrated with my guys when they try to ring the bell to do other things than go outside, or when it's the 5th time in an hour they need to go out (with Loki it's legit he does need to pee that much) but it does get annoying.. If she thought you were upset with her ringing the bell did she maybe go on the floor so she didn't have to ring the bell again? I still think she maybe doesn't feel good.

| ![]() I had thought about it and nothing was different yesterday than it is any day...so that is what has me confused. I actually was on my way to the door to let her out and did not even say anything to her until she started squatting on the floor to poo. So again I have no clue what her issue was...and it was about 20 min after her tearing up my boots that she had the accident. I also noticed she was peeing like crazy so she must have been hanging out over by the water bowl and she had already went #2 for the evening or so I had thought. It is just so werid for her to have acted like that espcecially seeing she does so well.

| ![]() My guess is that she may have ingested some of the fluff from your uggs and this upset her stomach/bowels. If this was the first time with an upset stomach, she may not have known what to do or may not have been able to control herself to get outside before messing in the house. Is this still happening or is she back on track? |

| ![]() I just have to say that those are some smart pups to ring a bell when needing to go potty. Wow wish Furgie would do that, but she is pad trained so I don't wnat to changethe rules now...when I had my schnauzer, she would just sit by the door. |

| ![]() I have been at work with her all day and she seems okay but then again all can change when we get home. I just hope whatever got into her yesterday is over.

![]() Though I do think that with Miss Bella it was a little of both. I think she was upset that you yelled at her and the fact that she'd eaten your shoe... caused her to have the potty issue... Im sure she's over it ![]()

| ![]() Maybe its just a fluke or a one-time thing, but a friend told me a story about her pup. My friend had to get some work done but her puppy kept bringing her a toy to play. She put the toy aside and kind of ignored the puppy. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed her puppy was sitting on her computer desk chair -- which she never did. She walked over, and her puppy had peed on her chair! Her puppy had been totally house broken, so she didn't know what to think! I don't think puppies seek revenge really either, but I think my friend's dog got her revenge nonetheless!! |
