| ![]() well, I was told a few months ago that maggie needed to lose some of her "cushioning". she was a little chunky monkey. so we cut her food back...which she is NOT happy about. she was 6.2 lbs (I checked the vet records today). last time I took her, she was 5.6 lbs. today she was 5.4 I do not want her to lose any more. she seems to be at a perfect weight now. with her not feeling good, she isn't eating right now, but hopefully she will get her appetite back and we can keep her right around 5.5 or so. I need to get some pictures. she looks like a different dog now that she has slimmed down!!!

| ![]() So did you just cut back on regular kibble or did you purchase low-cal food? The pet supply owner that I purchase kibble from said that there was only one brand that he carried that customers reported success with. My two over-weight doggies hated it. Now I have just cut back and add veggies to their meals. Hope it works. Joanne ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

it was basically the same food...just with glucosamine added. I think cutting back the food it what did it. I really do. I also give her veggies as treats instead of dog treats. she gets an OCCASIONAL snack of yorkie yummies, but really, it is primarily carrots and green beans. I think you should try that before changing their food ![]()

| ![]() Thanks. I also feed a kibble with glucosamine because my little 3.5 lb. senior rescue female has already had one knee surgery and another in the future. My 3 Yorkies all get 1/8 cup in A.M. and P.M. with veggies and a tiny bit of yoguart. They are maintaining but not losing. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() if they are not losing, i would just try some more exercise. do you give them a lot of treats? because that can contribute to dogs being overweight too. how much does the one that is overweight weigh??
