The major of people who read this don't even post their thoughts...but put a cute little dress out there and everyone goes crazy. It makes me sick what goes on and on and on and on. I sit and watch BYB breeders here on YT being talked about like God's gift to the puppy world. I have watched people talk about admiring people who do this for a living..and many breeders that come here do it to sell their products. I have watched members talk about some breeders here as reputable when in fact these people are scum of the earth and their dogs live in filth...but they are members so don't attack their breeding practices. I have seen breeders here make a bad placement and then take the dog back and then resell it as a rescue...THAT IS NOT A RESCUE! I have watched members here talk up other members of a club and say they did wonderful things with rescue and that other member was breeding designer dogs and had never done a real rescue in their lives. This is not about the dogs but selling more dogs. Now I don't want anyone to think that I hate all breeders...I DON'T...in fact I sit on a board of a Biewer club. I believe in reputable breeders and who believe in doing what is right by their breed and their dogs.

| Great thread. People need to realize. And why is it when someone tells the truth to a greeder that it is an attack? And they say "why can't you just help me?" Uh, they ARE helping you, you're just not listening.

No one has said they won't help people when they come here but with the help should come some lecture...sorry but these people didn't care about their dogs when they got them pregnant so what makes you think they really care about them now...or are they afraid of losing the profit. The bottom line is no one here is a vet (to my kowledge) and most of the situations could be rushed to a vet but it is cheaper to ask people here online. I admire long time breeders who step in and give advise but in many cases if people really cared about their dogs, did the research etc etc etc they would know to rush the dogs/puppies to a vet. Yesterday was very upsetting to many of us..because this girl had puppies we all thought were dying but she didn't want to spend the $$$ to go to the vet. I do not understand how anyone thought that was okay. PERIOD! If any member walked in on someone trying to kill a dog they would have been outraged but it was okay yesterday? I still will never understand why people put a person's feelings over animals dying because she wouldn't spend the money.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I guess it always amazes me when people aren't' aware of this, the HSUS and the AKC spend a good portion of their funds on education, but it still seems like the average person seems to have so little understanding of how many dogs die each year, and why it's so important that we only breed the best. We have plenty of gorgeous pets already out there. You want a one of a kind rare dog? Go to the pound or rescue, there are some real rarities there, and many are very beautiful. It kills me when people defend breeding pet quality dogs when rescues can't find homes for all of them, and I know that good breeders are putting the breaks on their breeding program because of the economy, yet a poor economy, seems to encourage byb's to breed as they want to suppliment their income. This is the major reason I encourage people to only support those breeders who are breeding to standard, and are really doing what's right for the breed. I think one of the problems is that people expect to pay too little for a pet, and the competition makes them cheaper and cheaper, while unscrupulous breeders breed out of standard dogs, and claim they are rare, so they can get big bucks.

They are not ALL professionals. First timers, second timers, asking what to do, how to do it, when to do it etc. That is why I suggested posting this info there. Don't be fooled by the Breeder section. Anyone expecting a litter is considered a breeder it seems. I wish them all well of course but I can't understand why? | |

| [QUOTE=livingdustmops;2820330]I thought long and hard where to publish this and the breeder section was not the place because the majority of people who go there have already made up their mind and more puppies are born from people who don't have a clue. I also thought about the name of the thread but I have over the years published this type of information and very few people will even open the thread...so I named it something to make people at least open the thread. I was so impressed with Mardelin,Tegamom1,Brooklynn and a very special lady Mary,(Mardelin) Mother. These are very professional Women that love this breed and only want to better this breed. When they speak, I listen. |

| I know...This whole thing is such a joke It still blows my mind that we have commercial and they can be clean or dirty kennels here in the USA. And the dog auctions, that one is incredible, I can't believe this is legal in the USA. What a crock... It all makes me sick. The Rescue people have my 110% support and respect. They have seen the worst of the worst and they are the ONLY people that give a dam, they are the ONLY people willing to go the extra mile, they are the ONLY people that cry when they can't save the one.... The bickering on YT makes me upset, but honestly, I feel all this non-sense breeding has to stop. I wish people would just love their pets as they should and really STOP this endless cycle |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I think you should post these stats or something similar EVERY WEEK, if not every day. I know some of these stats by heart, bc the animal welfare movement IS a big piece OF my heart. But there may be so many people out there for whom the sheer extent of these stats is an unknown. KEEP PUTTING THE MESSAGE OUT THERE.
