I would love to have my yorkie participate in this when I get him. I don't know how he will be, but I think he may like it. Are there any free training programs around Waldorf, MD that he could participate in in September or so?

Do a google search for dog clubs in your area. THen if they have websites, visit and see what they say.

They don't have a Yorkshire Terrier Club in Maryland. Is there another club I could join, when I get my yorkie, that could train my yorkie for the AKC Earthdog event?

I contacted the Norfolk Club and the Scottish Terrier Club. Both hold trials & events.

Sabre is a natural for this. High prey and hunt drive and loves tunneling. the other night, we were playing hide Mr Hedgy, and he was over under and through the mound of pillows looking for his favorite toy.
When I saw that the AKC finally gave in and allowed Yorkies to ED, I was ecstatic. I'm still looking for a club. If I can't find one, I suppose I will add rats to my menagerie and train him myself, lol.
