Like three jumps for $15, a winged jump for $20 or $25. Also, some of the equipment websites have snap on jump cups which makes it really easy to make your own jumps. I taught Lizzy to jump in my hallway. I set up a jump, threw a cookie on the other side, and said "jump" when she went over the jump. Once on the other side, I held a cookie out and said "jump." Then I added a second jump once she understood the word jump. Since YTs have such a short stride, you don't have to put jumps very far apart. Speed counts in agility. You have to get through a set course within a standard course time. Course maps are given the morning of the trial and you find out the time during the judge's briefing, usually. So, you really want a happy little dog who runs fast! Placements are determined by time, and any faults add to the time. Liz is pretty quick, but she is going to be in the 8 inch class and their aren't many dogs running in that class. I envy you having a larger YT because the 12 inch class is pretty good sized at most trials. I think our little dogs can really give the JRTs, Corgis, Pappillions and Shelties a run for their money! They are so cute, too, when they run. | Wow. Thank you so much. I am just worried they would decide to jump the baby gate in the hall way if I did that. LOL |
