The next YorkieTalk Gift Exchange, YT GE XXIII, our twenty third Gift Exchange, will take place in February 2011. Remember that the person you are giving a gift to MAY or MAY NOT be the same person you are receiving a gift from. You MAY or MAY NOT be paired with a Yorkie of the opposite sex. There is no official theme for this GE, though if you want to give your Secret Buddy Valentine-related items, that is fine.

We suggest you use the US Postal Service to mail to Canada or a non-USA address (as UPS and Fedex charges additional fees).

Please do not sign up unless you are currently a Donating Member.

Please note that the spending minimum is $25 for your Gift Exchange gift (this does not include shipping), though if you choose to spend more on your Secret Buddy, you may. Please do not expect anything more.

Here is the Gift Exchange Rules and Regulations thread. Please read it again, as there have been some changes to the rules since the last Gift Exchange. We now require all participants to be Donating Members (members that have donated $25 or more). If you are ALREADY currently a Donating Member (your usertitle shows Donating Member), this does not apply to you. We must receive your donation before you may sign up for this Gift Exchange. If you want to enter two Yorkies in this Gift Exchange, you must have donated a total of $50 or more.

Here is the Gift Exchange FAQ thread.

Please note that you MAY receive a secret buddy in Canada (if you are in the US), and you MAY receive a secret buddy in the US (if you are in Canada). Be prepared to pay a few dollars more in shipping costs if this is the case. If you receive a secret buddy in Europe or overseas, there will be extra shipping costs, thus you will be reimbursed roughly $19 for the extra shipping. We will reimburse you via Paypal or cashier's check after the recipient receives their gift. Also, to save on shipping costs, you may want to keep the package "lighter".

If you are not in the USA or Canada, there is a $20 shipping fee to participate per Gift Exchange. Your Secret Buddy will be reimbursed this $20 fee after you have received your package. This covers the extra costs of shipping international.

This thread is ONLY for signups. Do not post any questions or anything else besides sign up in this thread. Please PM us if you have any questions.

You must already have your Yorkie (if you are a new Yorkie parent) by December 1, 2010 to participate in this Gift Exchange.

The signup period will end January 31, 2011. You will receive your Secret Buddy information within THREE DAYS after the end of the signup period. If for some reason you sign up and can not participate in this Gift Exchange, you MUST notify us before the end of the signup period.

You may send gifts starting February 1, 2011. The deadline for sending out gifts will be February 28, 2011.

We always love to get lots of ideas from the secret buddy signup we receive so we’ll give you lots of ideas to give you somewhere to start. Above all, have fun and don’t worry too much about what you get us. Tucker would be happy with an empty water bottle, lol!

Some ideas! (These are ideas only, please don’t feel intimidated or like you have to follow these. We’ve just read a lot of people in the past say they wished they had received more information in the signup, so we’d like to error
on the side of putting too much instead of not enough.)

Agility Tucker and I do agility. We are just getting started with the accessories though. We would absolutely LOVE a martingale lead, as these are used when competing and we don't have one yet. We would also be super excited about any sort of agility merchandise like tee shirts with an agility related saying or graphic on it. I know they’ve got lots of cool memorabilia out there for it, maybe google yorkie agility or dog agility.

Also, I have a grooming table and do most of Tucker’s grooming myself. I’ve seen some people get organizers for their grooming tables in past exchanges and always thought that was a very neat gift. They are like a flap
of material that drapes over the side of the table and holds the brushes, combs, grooming sprays, bows, elastic bands, etc. I’ve also seen them with yorkies embroidered and personalized with the name of the dog. All of that
isn’t necessary, but this would be something neat if you need ideas Don't spend too much on it, but if you are a talented sewer, it could be a neat project we would really get some great use out of.

Clothes/Outfits Tucker could use a few more pairs of overalls. He likes to mark so anytime we visit a friend, go to Petsmart, etc. he has to wear a belly band and overalls are the perfect outfit to hide the band
and make him look cute, instead of suspicious with just the band. He is extremely long and skinny, so premade overalls usually don't fit him. Deb with GoFetch has made him a pair of custom overalls before, so she has his
measurements should you decide you'd like to contribute to his overall collection He would love a white pair, a light khaki/tan/biege pair, or a plain denim pair with no trim. If you really want to go overboard, you could
have his name embroidered on them. "Tucker" or "Tucky Wuckey" would be awesome! He's all set on most other kinds of clothing. Also I make bows so he’s got lots of those, too.

Also, I know a lot of peeps like to include something for yorkie’s mommy/daddy. By all means don’t feel like you have to, but if you want an idea for me, I’ve been eying tee shirts to wear during agility. I’m usually a small or medium if it looks close cut. (Just wanted to include this cause I know it’s really tricky to figure out the size of someone for a shirt, I tried a couple GEs back :P ) I particularly love this one: Property of an Agility Dog Women's Cap Sleeve T-Sh < Property of an Agility Dog < Dog Agility Gifts < Popper's Agility T-Shirts

She is an aggressive chewer so anything to help her with that is great. She does occasionally wear clothes and sometimes bows. We prefer simple clothing that does not fit too loosely otherwise she will chew on it and get entangled in it. Please use measurements. She currently has a short body hair cut, but is working on growing that back out. She has a combination coat, and we can always use grooming products.

Remy is daddy's little girl. She loves her walks and to cuddle. She loves to chase her toys and go on small trips.

[IMG] We have tons of toys, and haven't been able to get her interested in ANY of them. But she does LOVE to eat! She has pretty much loved every snack we've introduced. She also loves bully sticks.

We live in Montana so sweaters and shirts are pretty much needed ALL year round! She came to us Nekked..so we're in the process of getting her clothes and warm things to wear! She's been sharing her sisters sweaters, and hair accessories...but it would be nice to have some of her own.

We're still getting to know Honey...but in the short time she's been with us..she's already won over our hearts!! She's a very sweet girl.

I like Hoodies, T'shirts, Jammies, and wuv shoes, really would luv a pair of doggy slippers or socks. my pads on my feet are 1.5 inch long and 1.25 wide, days not including my nails (just incase)

I wub toys, but i am a very aggressive chewer, i do better with Big Toys ment for Big Dogs. I luv Nylabones--dey last a long time for me. I also am to smart fer my own good, so i been told, so interactive toys are great. I like Bows, but my hair is super fine so rubberband ones are best. I have been blessed with a few Beds in past Ge's so were set on those. I also REALLY LUV warm fuzzy Blankets and would Lub dat. I lib on a farm, width my Big Brudders and Sista's (labs) so im not totally a girly, girl, but i likes to pretty up. Des are all just ideas to hopefully help my buddy out--but we will love anything that we get. So no pressure and have a Great Time! Happy Valentines G.E.
