Wanted: High Quality Yorkie I'm interested in finding a yorkie to show. Growing up my family bred and showed german shepherds and since moving out on my own I've decided to pursue my own avenue of showing. I need some advice though on going about finding that perfect pup. What do I ask breeders? What do I tell them about myself? Does anyone have a copy of a email that they've sent out, just to get some sort of idea on what breeders are looking for? Where do I look? I've been cautioned by family and friends, that most breeders and showers are snobby and rude. How do I get around that? What should I look for? Any help would be appreciated

E-mail or call some of the breeders in your area asking about their breeding program. I think its safe to say that most breeders breed for themselves first and foremost if they want to finish a champion. There are many experienced breeders on YorkieTalk who may be able to help you along a little better than I would.

It will take time untill you will find a breeder that will give to you the "perfect" yorkie, because in most cases they don´t sell the really good one´s. You should look for a good breeder who is successful in the rings. Atthe moment that would be for example Parkside´s, Rothby´s, Durrer´s, Caraneal´s and so on. I only got my show girl because Me and the breeder were friends before, they also breed Maltese and Shih Tzu and I looked after the dogs svereal times and then started to drive to dogshows with them and learned how to show a dog correctly. I think that is nearly the best way. If you want to know how a good dog should look like here is the adress of a good HP http://www.sweetyblue.com They have many show results on their pages with many many pictures. Do you want to buy in the USA or in Europe or in another country?? The breeder of my bitch is going to get a litter out of a Canadian Ch. Bitch and a German Jr. Ch. Sire in September. They also ship to America.

I am in Southern California and have met several show breeders recently including the current president of the YTCA in Los Angeles. I would be happy to introduce you or give you their contact info. I have found them all quite approachable but some personalities are warmer than others!
