| Bows, Bows, Bows... I am wondering where everyone gets their show bows? I purchased a few from Ebay and love them but was quite the rookie and bought pink and light blue...which I have not seen any color but red in the ring. Red with rhinestones, bling, pearls, gold strips, but all were red. So who makes the best show bows? Is red the way to go?

| I buy my show bows from Carl (carlybaby on YT) and they are beautiful and well made. A lot of us on YT have his bows.

| Carl does make beautiful bows! I thought I'd pop in with a link to some of mine as well - it might be of interest to you. Having options is always a good thing. Show Bows

| Carl makes great bows as I've just placed my order from him and Mardlin aka "Mary" makes all her bows custom made and to order sometimes LOL...Mary makes all the pretty bling ones that everyone dies to buy at our auctions at the Bluebonnet Specialty LOL... But if you can't get them from Mary, I would recommend Carl Stark! Donna |

| Yes, I make them. Never ordered from Carl but I understand he makes a good bow.

| Hey nobody answered the red question. Every Yorkie I've seen in a show (not that I've seen many) have red bows. What's up with that? |

| It's tradition. It's the color that shows the gold off the best. However, it's very dependent on what brings out the color of your dogs tan the best. Some dogs have a bit more red and orange is best. Then there are some dogs that have the just perfect gold to carry a black bow. My puppy bitch has not completely cleared and her gold has not turned completely, so I use a Hot Pink bow on her.

| Thank you Mary. I will buy an orange and a hot pink for sure. My mentor told me that I better get used to wearing red also. As the red tends to show off the Yorkie best. She does however wear her lucky purple suit jacket and has won a major just about every time...superstition I think but whatever works.. If I have to wear a tutu to get a major....well maybe not. LOL about Mary...I wonder...Mary is there anything Yorkies you do not know?

Right Donna, Nothing worse than seeing someone that is wearing heels in the ring....you get so focused on the heels you forget to look at the dog. Or someone that is so over dressed....you just don't remember the dog.

| Maybe this should go in the grooming section but since we're on show attire... Some of those bows look a little heavy... don't get me wrong, they're GORGEOUS (and a few of them are going to be on their way to me quite soon) but how do you fasten the heavier shellacked bows on the topknot? Don't they fall off? Do you rubberband the topknot and then clip a bow on or is the bow already on the band? (Inquiring minds want to know. I think I figured out the topknot thing but Tabby's is teeny. ) |
