Yorkie Yakker | Flakes Mylee has really flakey skin. She does not seem to be itching, but the flakes are really noticeable. Can anyone rcommend a product. I currently use Nootie shampoo and a conditioning spray. Thanks!

| I would try an oatmeal shampoo. If the flakes are too bad though she may need to see a vet, could be a skin condition or allergy. She is so cute

| Oh, forgot to mention I picked up my oatmeal shampoo from petsmart. I forgot what it's called. Also, make sure you are not bathing her too much because this can dry out the skin.

| When we got Carly she had flakey skin/coat (as a puppy) - I use John Paul Pet Oatmeal shampoo & conditioner on her and after several shampoo's the flakes never came back.

| What about treating the reason for the flaky skin? What do you currently feed? Any supplements? |

| My Vet noticed that my puppy had flakes also and recommended Head and Shoulders Shampoo. I normally do Storm's first wash in Head and Shoulders, Rinse, and then do a 2nd wash in the Oatmeal and Aloe Shampoo from Petsmart. It does help out a lot. |

| Mocha had flaky skin for about 3 weeks. I changed his shampoo to oatmeal and bath every 7 days instead of 5 days. That helped but did not cure the problem. What eventually worked is more fish in his diet. I was feeding him Orijen adult formula with red and white meat. At the recommendation of my vet I mixed that with Orijen all fish formula (half and half) and the problem went away. I don't even have to use oatmeal shampoo any longer. If you can't find food with good quality fish, then get fish oil supplement. |
