Default Show me your ex-pens please

My baby girl will be home in about three weeks (can you see me doing cartwheels over here!) and I want to have everything set up when we get home.

Thanks in advance

I have this one and like it for my 4 lb. Yorkie. It's easy to take apart and move/take it with you.

Here's a few that Dog. com has available: Dog Supplies, Dog Beds, Toys & Treats Supplies Search - Dog.com

Here's what Petco has to offer: Pet Food, Supplies & Accessories at PETCO

Or if you are crafty and have a hardware store nearby, you can make your own like I did. GEDC0919_1.JPG It's just a simple pvc pipe frame covered in chicken wire.

This is the one we have:
Walmart.com : North State - Superyard XT Portable Playard & Gate : Gear

It's kind of a pain because there are no doors but the sides come apart pretty easily so when we want Franklin to be able to run in and out on his own, we just open the side. It's pretty big and a great price. It's also easy to fold up and carry. I love it!

This is a soft-sided one that I have, it also has a bottom and top that you have to buy separately, I love it. These are pics taken at our local Weinerfest last October.

It's really easy to travel with also, I'll be taking it with me to the KC Meet-up.

Here's the one I used to use. Spike was still learning so that's why there are so many pads down. Sugar lifts his leg sometimes and I had read here to take a 2 liter filled with water or sand and wrap a potty pad around it for leg lifters so that's what the odd standing up potty pad was for. I ended up going with a potty pad in a litter box- the sides are high enough if he lifts his leg. This was in my old house and I had carpeting, hence the shower curtain liner under the whole thing. I have to say I was not sad to say goodbye to the x-pen. It was a life saver at the time but they take up a lot of room and in my case- not the most attractive thing. Congrats on your baby girl!

I never had a X-pen. I went to the Salvation Army and bought and old fashioned playpen for 10 bucks. I brought it home scrubed it down with bleach and water. He use to sleep in it at night and stayed in it when I had to go run errands. During the day when I was at home he was always with me. He followed me all over the house and still does. lol

Do you have any picture of this? I'm trying to improve their potty area.

Thanks again!

Here ya go, I just took one- sm.jpg
This was so funny because my husband walked in right as I was about to take the picture. He stopped dead in his tracks and looked at me like I had lost my mind. I said, yeah, I'm taking pictures of Sugar's litter box.

Anyway, they aren't in an x-pen anymore so the litterbox is kind of hidden next to my bookshelves in the study. Sometimes Sugar will get a little pee pee under the pad but it's easy to take outside and hose out.
Nothing ends up on the floor.

Wow, Ya'll are so clever ....I say lets go pee pee every ten minutes of my day! ~LOL~ Cricket and Paxton get so excited ...thank goodness for squirrels who make their little outings really fun!

If I get one of those...I can see it now....my two little boys on the inside and Paxton and Cricket on the outside....

Thanks so much, Nikki!

Yes, I can relate, I do so much silly things, my hubby doesn't even question it and just ignores it all.

I actually tried getting that litter box but found it too small, with 3 furballs I needed a bigger space. I was contemplating on buying two, cutting it up and combine it together, but that was just too much work and probably still too small. You know, they need the space because they like to walk around when doing a #2.

So what I did was since I have a closet inside my bathroom (weird I know, but helpful!) I took down the three bottom shelf and that is where they do their business. I placed a shower curtain for the 1st layer (and double sided tapes on the side & back walls so no leakage from the sides) then washable pad and on top is the disposable pad.

I'm trying to get them used to the washable pads so hopefully they'll get used to it but they still like to use the disposable even though the washable pad is there too. Now I'm going to use the liter bottle trick!! Thanks!!

Also, the cute thing about having their potty area in the bathroom is them running to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I've witness this so many times and I get a kick out of it all the time.
