| Bile Acid Test Cost For those who don't mind sharing, how much did a bile acid blood test run for your Yorkie? It's about $100, right? I think Ellie needs one done.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali has her's at the ER vet so they were more expensive. I think 100.00 the regular vet was more like 65.

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Well I am in Michigan with ya, I called 3 places all were within 10 bucks of each other. If you are doing a pre and post blood draw, which I did, Mine was around 150.00 that includes office visit, the test itself was about 50 per draw. I also had results in an hour, They did not have to send off to a University or lab to be tested.

No Longer a Member | Well, here's how ours went. I paid $170-something I think, which was for a complete blood panel, plus the office visit. When they found the bile acid level high, I had to do the fast and retest. That was $39, and no office visit. |

| I just emailed the vet to see if she will do one for Ellie. This shouldn't be a lot of fun.

| If you're going to have a bile acid test done on her, make sure the do a pre-meal draw and post-meal draw.

| I will do that. I read that the meal has to be fatty. Is this true and how fatty does it have to be?

| What were her symptoms that made you think of having a test? I have read that being listless and losing their appetite are some symptoms.

| Yorkieluv, that's what I'm afraid of. It's probably Science Diet and I don't want her eating it ever again. Spr377, Ellie is six and has never seemed to gain weight. Ever since homecooking she seems to be a pig (always hungry). She had a severe reaction to a vaccine last September. She had a recurrent UTI this year. Ellie is a product of bad breeding. I don't trust her breeder. I just want to make sure that she is okay.
