| How soon can Lacy have a bath after applying Frontline? I applied frontine on Lacy Friday night. Is it okay to give her a bath Sunday night? (that would be about 48 hours).

| I was wondering the same thing. I would also like to know how soon you can apply the frontline after you give them a bath. Mine need both things right now and I was wondering if I should bathe them first or put on the frontline first?

| I read somewhere it is 24 hours after you apply it. I always try to give them a bath right before I apply it. |

| On the package I think it says 48 hours, but I try to wait as long as possible and TRY to put it on right after a bath.

| This is what the vet said... not sure about it, though: I asked the same question to a local vet, not our regular vet. I was in buying the flea/tick preventive. She said to only use "soapless" shampoo or I was just wasting my time applying the preventive--no matter how long before or after a bath. Has anyone heard this? My get a bath once a week and I use a variety of "doggie" shampoos--I got a lot of samples through the mail and like trying out the different ones. I may be washing it off.... Educate us all...thanks.

| I remember hearing that you shouldn't put it on immediately after a bath because the oils on their skin need time to build up again for the Frontline (or whichever topical you're using) to work properly. Just to be on the safe side, I do it 3 days after a bath.

| I don't use it at all so I wouldn't even know when to put it or when not to. |

| Thanks - I'll probably go ahead with the bath tonight. This is my first time to use frontline and forgot to ask that question. I have heard that about not applying right after a bath because of the oils - don't know if its true but heard it from a groomer.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | with frontline you need 48 hours either way. so if you gave her a bath you need to wait 2 days. if you applied the frontline already you need to wait 2 days.

| My trainer told me to wait 3 days to be sure. You can tell. After two days, they still feel a little sticky around the shoulder area. If the vet said two days though, go with it.

| Check the website... I checked the Frontline website (figuring that would offer the most authoratative answer): How long after application can my pet be bathed or go swimming? FRONTLINE Brand Products remain effective for 30 days, even if a pet swims or is bathed. After application, keep the dog or cat from getting wet until the application area appears dry, usually 24 hours. If a FRONTLINE Brand Product is to be applied after a bath, make sure the pet is completely dry before application. http://frontline.us.merial.com/produ...s_faqs.asp#q11 |
