| Heaving and Coughing, and not stopping..... Last night my 1 yr old Yorkie (female) seemed like she was clearing her throat and then spitting up clear liquid, a little foamy. She had not gone outside in a couple of hours so I was not afraid of it being from a frog, and figured maybe she ate a piece of grass that was tickling her throat. She otherwise seemed fine and normal. This morning, my other Yorkie (female) seemed to be heaving, but not stopping, and nothing was coming up. She was doing this for LONG stretches, and I didn't like the way she looked, so my Mom (it's her dogs) is in route to the Vet whom I haven't been able to get in touch with although there recording says they are open at 8 a.m. I am afraid they might be closed for Memorial Day Weekend which would turn this into an ER Vet situation. This is not the one the Yorkie that was having a problem last night. Last nights Yorkie seemed to have more of a Croupy Cough this morning. Any ideas of what could be causing this? |

| I don't know what the problem is, but sure hope they get feeling better soon! Have they eaten this morning? My westie would sometimes do this in the mornings if he had an empty stomach.

| I think they have some how contracted Kennel Cough. My Sheltie started coughing too, I spoke to the nurse at the Vet, and she told me to give them Robitussin DM every 4 hrs and the Vet would be back on Tuesday. From what I have read on the internet, there isn't much they can do other than cough suppressants anyways. Has anyone had any experience with this? |
