Default Heaving and Coughing, and not stopping.....

Last night my 1 yr old Yorkie (female) seemed like she was clearing her throat and then spitting up clear liquid, a little foamy. She had not gone outside in a couple of hours so I was not afraid of it being from a frog, and figured maybe she ate a piece of grass that was tickling her throat. She otherwise seemed fine and normal.

This morning, my other Yorkie (female) seemed to be heaving, but not stopping, and nothing was coming up. She was doing this for LONG stretches, and I didn't like the way she looked, so my Mom (it's her dogs) is in route to the Vet whom I haven't been able to get in touch with although there recording says they are open at 8 a.m. I am afraid they might be closed for Memorial Day Weekend which would turn this into an ER Vet situation. This is not the one the Yorkie that was having a problem last night. Last nights Yorkie seemed to have more of a Croupy Cough this morning.

Any ideas of what could be causing this?
