Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | What is Adequate?? If your puppy eats Innova EVO and nutrical 2-3 times a day for hypo...Is there anything else I should give him?? I think I was told no need to supplement but I just realized it's not a "puppy formula" and he is 11 weeks, so just making sure I have this right. Better to be safe than sorry!

Im just confused as to what to feed him everyday. Seems someone said Innova EVO is great for puupis...and would not need to supplement with this food. Ugg I guess I will go read through all the posts and see where I seen it. He does go to vet tomorrow though so I could always ask them also. I know how important puppy food is thats whats causing my concern

| Well puppies need more nutrients/protein than an adult dog, so you definitely need to feed him puppy food. If you take the Innova EVO and compare it to puppy food, if it more or less matches up nutritionally, then you might be fine! Also, I don't think it's good to feed Nutri-Cal too often. It raises glucose levels, but it also brings them down after the initial spike has occurred. All that up-down isn't good and it sort of messes up the dog's electrolyte system. Once a day is fine, but I think 3 times a day, every day, is too much. |

| Innova EVO is very high in protein...you might want to ask your vet what protein levels they recommend for puppies and go from there. |

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | He is a picker...hard to judge how much he is actually eating he runs with it (after throwing it and of course killing it) and hides it, sometimes eats it...I sit down every 3-4 hours to make sure he at least eats a few kibble. I usually give him a little bb size nutrical in the morning after sleeping 6-8 hours and before bed. He sleeps right through the night. He wakes up sooo ready to go play he doesnt always take the time to eat. I am hoping the vet will say no more nutrical (he goes tomorrow) I will be sure to ask about how Innova EVO compares to a premium puppy food. I think the vet recommened nutrical 3 times a day due to the fact #1 he is hypo and has suffered seizures from it, and 2 he weighed in at 1.1 lbs......Im thinking your all right though...he is gaining, growing and bouncing so I will definately ask about nutrical and having to use it daily. I give it in VERY tiny doses like I said maybe a bb size. I figured the sugar in it had to cause a high then a low. Good to know it is true and Im starting to get it!! I think.....lol

| That's funny you say that. The lady I just got my Gemma from, said the same thing! She said she feeds Royal Canine to the puppies and then Innova to the adults. I told her I feed puppy Innova and she had no idea there was such a thing? I find it around here everywhere! Quote:
