| Just curious-- Diet Coke???? So Mia likes to push glasses, bottles, and soda cans over. Then she drags them around. It is all very cute when the container is empty. Well, just now she tipped over a Diet Coke can, and started drinking it in the split second before I picked her up. She did not drink much, just a couple licks, but I am just wondering how bad it is for her??? And in general, I know she is not supposed to have grapes, chocolate, raisins, macadamia nuts and whatnot, but should I freak out if she finds a wee little bit of it on the floor and licks it up?

| I am sure she is fine a little won't hurt her. The chocolate you need to watch out for is dark chocolate or the bakers chocolate (but she shouldn't eat milk chocolate either). I wouldn't worry to much I am sure she is fine. Now I only wish that I could drink Diet instead of regular Coke LOL.

| I wouldnt worry. Milo does the same thing with water bottles, he is chewing on one right now, it's his favorite toy - go figure. Dogs are not supposed to have caffeine, but it sounds like your pup had so little, that there should be nothing to worry about. Treat it behaviorally. Give her a consequence for knocking over the can. Also, something I learned recently...Milo lost interest in his OWN toys, and was only interested in eating things like my designer shoes that I left out by accident! A trainer said to keep all of his toys locked up and only take out a couple at a time. This makes the toys more novel and the dog is more likely to play with them then. It totally worked for me (for the most part) I happen to include bottles in his toy drawer, they're cheap and replaceable - what can I say! |
