Bad breath I have noticed that Royce has a strong bad breath, I didn't start brushing his teeth yet I will start tomorrow as the vet told me I should start doing it when he reaches 6 months . Is it normal forhim to have this bad breath ? Can I use a homemade solution to brush his teeth today to see if it goes away or not ( I heard that you can use white vinegar and water ?) . Also how can I wash his face with water and shampoo without getting his body wet? May be the bad breath comes from the hair surrounding his mouth when he eats it gets dirty ? Could the bad breath be caused by a health problem ?

Six months? Maybe he's losing his teeth? When Aggie was losing her baby teeth, she had breath that could kill! Look for signs of blood on his toys...

some do seem to go through a bad breath stage when they are teething - you may also need to have some baby teeth removed if they didn't fall out and bacteria is getting trapped between the two sets. never heard of vinegar, but a paste made from baking soda and water works - do not use human toothpaste. Also, you may want to look into a product called Teeth for Life. Burt's bees also makes a breath freshener for "man and beast". its a green liquid that comes with an eye dropper top and mine all seem to take it easily (after watching mommy, of course).
