I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I guess the part about them attracting male dogs would worry me. Yorkies are so small, I just can't helping thinking that they could be injured or get a sexually transmitted disease. However, if someone could make sure that they were never left unguarded, I guess it's a good alternative. I don't think the general public understands what the male dog will do to get to a female. By the way, it says sterilization is illegal in Scandinavia, do you know why?

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | I get that. I also think with what we know right now, for small breed females including Yorkies, maybe after 8-12 months do the full spay, I still believe to make sure the growth plates are closed. We don't have any studies on increase in diabetes, thyroidism, bone cancers (which are deadly), endocrine disorders, etc etc. I also would love to know how the sexual hormones affect connective tissue maturation and tendon strength. Vs a Vs LP. How about the normal development of liver cells? I am still looking for someone and any research on vascetomies and tubal ligation on young pups,,,,,,,,,,

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Well, I'm glad it's still legal here. I really remember a time when there were so many strays and everyone thought they should be a breeder and very few families neutered their pets and I would hate to see us go back to that. All you have to do is dog a google on overpopulation in Mexico and know that the only thing saving us is the fact we have low cost neutering clinics.
