| Tooth sensitivity after a dental! My Yorkie has regular yearly dental treatments and X-rays due to her root resorbtion problem. She has always had sensitive teeth eg if she chews a toy too hard it hurts, if she plays tug too roughly it hurts etc. (I have now stopped the tug game, much to her disappointment.) She recently had her dental and yesterday she drank some cold water and jumped back in fright, as it obviously hurt her teeth. She had a lick of my daughter's ice cream today and the same thing happened. Is this a sign that the dentist has missed a cracked tooth or exposed nerve or something? What can I do to reduce this sensitivity? |

| Oh I hate that pain from eating cold items. I would take her back to the dentist just to check that nothing is left exposed. They would probably know if there is anything that you could give to lessen her sensitivity. I hope she feels better soon best wishes.

Hi, Thanks so much for your reply. Tootsy is feeling a little better. I took her back to the dentist and he had another look at her teeth, but could find nothing wrong. He said to wait a few weeks and see if it settles. It has got better, but then again I am being careful not to let her eat anything cold or hot. I will get a second opinion, should her discomfort continue. Thanks again. | |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Hope it was just a little extra sensitivity due to the dental, you sound like such a good mama.
