| Puppy Feeding Hey guys! My wife and I are new, proud Yorkie mix owners! We love our new puppy, but have recently run into a few questions that we think you guys could help us with. Since getting Charly, we are feeding her a 1/4 cup of dry puppy chow with a bit of warm water twice a day. Now our little girl is 4 months old and has gotten much bigger! The question we now have is, what's enough for food? Should we stick to the 1/4 cup or move on to a larger portion? Thanks! http://i.imgur.com/ihY2alt.png |

| Hi and welcome to YT. I know I go roughly by the feeding chart on the bag to determine the amount because all dog food has a different calorie count. In the beginning was overfeeding Buster and he became obese because I was giving to many treats on top of his food. Since the treats are mostly filler and do not have the nutrition of kibble I started giving him kibble for his treats. He's happy and after a year on a diet where he is now at a normal weight I am happy too. Since Carly is a puppy it is very important to get the best nutrition while growing. I know I did not really answer your question because it is determined by your dogs weight and the calorie content of your food. Hopefully others will add their ideas.

YT Addict | Puppies will not over eat. My pup is 16 weeks old and eating almost 1/2 c a day. If they take food from you then they are still hungry. After they eat I put a few more kibbles in the bowl to make sure they have had enough. In the morning I put 1/2 c in a separate sealed bowl so I can measure how much he is getting. |
