| Swollen lip Hi my dog Yoda has a swollen lip the vet was not too concerned he said that it could be because he was being feed and watered out of a plastic bowl but I am not too sure , I will be taking him to another vet but I would like some opinions on it . it is only his bottom lip and it does not hurt or seem to bother him he is eating dry dog food easily here are some pics |

| Yep, your pup definitely has a fat lip! You been boxing with him or something? LOL I wonder if he got into some clover and got stung. I would thing that would hurt but I've seen stranger things than that. LOL When did you first notice the lip? I don't know what eating/drinking out of a plastic dish would have with your pup having a fat lip? That just sounds strange to me but I will bump this thread so others will see it and hopefully you will get some good info. Good luck and I would think that if it doesn't hurt him, then I would just watch it the next couple days to make sure the swelling goes down.

| Bee sting?? Abcessed tooth?? I know plastic food/water bowls can cause their noses to turn brown.....so I wont scoff at the fat lip theory.....I can not connect the dots there, unless you whacked him in the mouth with the plaastic bowl!!!!!!!!! LOL..... |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would get a second opinion if it doesn't get better soon. It may be a bee sting or an allergic reaction. If it was, Benydryl may have helped. Hopefully a new vet will have a better idea.

| The issue is that its been like that for a little while and if it was an allergic reaction or sting it would have gone away , It is not hard and can be pushed in does not bother him at all , I will be asking the vet if it is a possible problem with his teeth. Thanks |

| If it's still there, I really would get a second opinion. That looks painful and it can't be fun to try to eat with that. I'm thinking it's got to be more than what he's eating out of. I'd sure change that bowl and get him to another vet before his lip splits or something. Poor little guy. He sure is precious and has just a beautiful face, pretty sweet eyes.

| I agree. 2 nd opinion needed. A lip doesn't swell for no reason. Have you ruled out allergic reaction to food or medication? No sharp tooth poking it? Huey has 2 sharp baby ţeeth that he never lost (or so the vet says) and one used to poke straight out into his lip. It turned downwards finally, but it used to cause an irritated spot inside his upper lip.
