| Also, if your puppy is young and the protein is higher in the Fromm's it may be too rich for their system, especially with a quick change. One of my puppies had runny stools on a higher protein food but the adults were fine and it was supposed to be an 'all life's stages' food. |

| I agree that the fast change may have made the difference. My boys eat Fromm Chicken a la Veg. I don't think the protein is higher than Royal Canin. It's a moderate protein food -- 23%, if I recall correctly. There is a significant difference in ingredients which may be affecting your pup. Make sure your pup is getting the correct amount too. Compare the calories per cup of the two foods and adjust accordingly. Getting too much or too little can cause soft, runny stools.

| You can add a little bit of canned pumpkin (not the pumpkin pie filling but pure pumpkin) to the food to help make it more solid. The honest kitchen also has something called "perfect form" which you can sprinkle on the food which will make it more solid. | i agree with others that you must change over gradually . another thing you could try is a different variety of the fromm .. Maybe a grain free one such as beef fritata or the salmon tulanini . i know that my oscar does fabulous on the fromm grain free but he cannot eat the surf & turf variety cause it gives him soft poops... |

| This is what I do: I do 25% of new & 75% old for about 4 days. Then 50%/50% for about 4 days . Then 75% new & 25 old for 4 days. Then over to 100% new food. I transition very slowly because Max is sensitive to a lot of foods and this is the only way for me to tell if the soft poos are foods related.

| My Goldens stool firmed up and became smaller and less smelly when I started to feed Fromm Chicken a la Veg. Feed what works best for you and your pup
