| oh jeeze maybe I did get a bad tube! I emailed them a couple of hrs ago, so hopefully they'll respond by 2morrow. The tip of the tube gets black where the cap screws on & also the inside of the cap. Did a google search & on amazon reviews, some people were asking the same thing. Is there expiration dates on toothpaste?

| That sounds nasty! Let us know when you hear back from the company. I bought a tube of paste a few months back (can't remember the brand) in the peanut flavor. This stuff was green! I emailed the company and thy said they added something for the breath. We use chicken flavor now.

| My CET toothpaste tube gets that too. I just assumed it was from me not really being clean about squeezing the toothpaste out and then it building residue... lol, plus the top of the lid is like a metal-like material? So I dunno. But yeah I know exactly what you're talking about. It's kinda "crusty" too.

I think I'll stick w/tropiclean fresh breath gel even tho it has corn alcohol in it. Momo hates it tho & he's the most difficult to brush.

| Ew, mine does that too, I just wipe it off. I think it's the metal reacting to something in the toothpaste. Which is stupid, they should be using some kind of BPA free plastic by now, it's 2012 You know you're old if you remember your toothpaste in a metal tube. It used to be a big argument at my house when someone would squeeze it from the middle, because it WAS a problem with those metal tubes SO funny

| I don't know if I'd trash it just because of it.... I've never really found it a huge deal. It's the toothpaste the board certified veterinary dentist recommended to us, and it works well, and it's the only one Jackson seems to like the taste of. So we won't be switching.

| I've never seen it on my tubes of CET. I've used the Poultry and the Vanilla Mint so far. Does it have to do with the variety?

| Maybe, I have the tarter control enzymatic beef flavor if that makes any difference. Either my email went to their junk folder or it wasn't important enough &/or redundant to be replied to...=/
