| Toby is going for his first dental on Friday. I'm already nervous. Especially after reading that some dogs get diarrhea from the anesthesia. He sleeps with us so maybe I will have to sleep on the couch the night he comes home. He is going to have 3-4 baby teeth pulled. His breath is atrocious and we need to get those baby teeth out for health reasons. I had the vet give me an estimate and the most it should cost is going to be a little over $200. Guess I can't complain compared to what I'm reading on YT. That price included the pre dental blood work. I guess the vet will tell me how long I need to feed him soft food I am to drop him off Friday morning and pick him up around 5 pm. Guess I will work that day to keep my mind occupied. Keep your fingers crossed for my little guy. He's a pretty tough cookie so hopefully this will go smooth for both of us.

| Sending best wishes for Toby. Max has been under anesthesia twice and did not suffer diarrhea. He ate kibble after having 5-6 baby teeth removed, although maybe I wasn't supposed to give him kibble. Vets usually recommend feeding half of normal diet that night, because they can be sick to their stomachs. Max ate his full meals.

| Mine have always handled the anesthesia fine. I was only instructed to feed soft food when Armani had teeth removed, usually you can use kibble right away after just a cleaning.

| Thanks for the input. I hope he does fine. This little guy loves, loves, loves his kibble. He just loves to eat period! Bad thing is his internal clock wakes me up every single morning around 6:30 a.m. to eat. Then as soon as I walk through the door at 4:30 p.m. he barks until I feed him his dinner. He is NOT going to be a happy pup Friday morning when I have to ignore his nose bumping to get me up to feed him!! And he won't stop either. Will have to find something to distract him until 8:00 a.m. when I take him to the vet. But he is pretty persistent so it may be tough.

| I feel your pain, denying food is the worst. Then you can't distract them with a walk or playtime because they can't drink water afterward. Lots of cuddles help.

| HA! Toby loves to be cuddled but only on his terms. I have never seen a dog as persistent as he is. Maybe if I take him bye bye for a long drive that would work. But who wants to sit in Friday morning traffic just to keep his mind off food! He is going to be one hungry little boy when he gets home. Maybe a couple extra carrots tomorrow night around 11:55 pm will work. LOL

| Diana, I'm sure Toby will be fine. I'll be thinking of you Friday (Cooper is getting his shots Friday). Maybe start a game of WWF to keep your mind off it

| Toby is back to his old self again.................reminding us (and Speedy) that HE is the alpha dog. He slept most of the evening last night and all last night (he was really snuggly and I loved it!). This morning our vet called to make sure he was back to normal and eating. I thought that was very considerate. Here's his photo when he came home last night (poor little guy!).
