| Soft Poop Sorry! Couldn't think of any other way to say it. For the past couple of weeks, Lucy has had soft poop; it sticks to all her hair and sometimes it just stays in a wad right on her butt. I can't tell you how many times I've had to put her in the bath just to wash her bottom. This never used to happen! She always had the perfect little tootsie roll poops. I've not changed her food; I had her groomed to trim some of her hair ~ so far that hasn't helped. She just got a clean bill of health from the Vet; it's not diarrhea. She was boarded last week-end while we were out of town; but she is eating well and seems fine - just with the soft-serve ice cream style poop. Any thoughts? Pumpkin? I apologize in advance for the number of times I used the P word.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Stress...... Dogs handle stress in different ways and stress can affect them in different ways. I beleive boarding her and being away from you triggered it. ust give her some time, keep her bottom clean and before you know it everything will be back to normal.

| Did it start before or after boarding? Hopefully it clears up because this can be a chronic, miserable thing to deal with. Has she been to the vet since this started? Fecal done (with giardia add-on)? You can try a round of Metro to see if it clears the problem up (probably wouldn't have to go in for that if she has just been seen). Can try Tylan. If you give it some time and nothing seems to help, then you're looking at diet change. I feel like I'm forgetting something... Could try probiotics (try one thing at a time so you know what helps). I'm not a big fan, but they may work. I suppose digestive enzymes are something that you could try also. If none of that helps. I'm sure one of those things will help. Not going to hurt a thing to try pumpkin. I would be very surprised if it worked though.

I'll start with Pumpkin cause she loves it and if that doesn't work; not sure. Might try a diet change since she's no longer crazy about her Blue Buffalo Whitefish kibble. (and it stinks too). If that fails, I'll call the vet to see what he recommends. Thanks!

| Some antibiotics can definitely cause this type of issue. I'd be surprised if it lasted this long though. I think anything along the penicillin line can easily... It's been so long that I'd also be surprised if it was the OV, but since she was not herself for two days, I suppose it's possible. Was it like a day after you gave it or what? Ellie's vet uses that stuff all the time. Will ask if she has had a problem. Or what if she was actually getting sick and it wasn't all the OV making her act like that?

| ETA: No, she has never seen GI issues or a dog not acting like itself. So either Lucy is very sensitive or she was irritated for a little while when it was in her mouth and something else made wasn't right.
