| The Honest Kitchen - thrive Has anyone tried feeding The Honest Kitchen dog food, and does your Yorkie like it? I went into a store today and they gave me a sample pack of thrive (chicken). It smells great and I was thinking about using it sometimes so I won't have to cook Also I might mix it with the chicken and brown rice that I do cook to give her more veggies because the stinker picks around her food a lot

| she liked it! I mixed in with her homecooked chicken and she really liked it and ate it all! maybe this will give me a slight break from preparing all the other ingredients except the meat. I will wait to see how it comes out of her when she goes potty before I purchase it. She has had ideal poop for as long as I have be cooking for her...about a year now.

| I'm glad she liked it! Jackson turned his nose up at it --- I also got a sample once.

| I was feeding the preference for awhile- its the one you add your own meat too- the dogs loved it but they lost too much weight on it no matter how much I fed- I am sure it had something to do with the ratio of meat I was adding. Sadly, all the rest of the formulas are too high protein for my kids- but I really like the company and would consider feeding it if I could.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Taycie LOVED Thrive. I got slightly nervous feeding that particular formula after I received an email from The Honest Kitchen after commenting on one of there blog posts. This particular formula has 20% fat. I got nervous and switched but none of the other formulas worked for Taycie The email is below.. Just thought I would pass this information on. Hi there, Thank you for commenting on our blog post. I’m happy to hear that Taycie is doing well with Thrive. She will be a full-grown adult soon and when she is, we recommend transitioning to a more moderate diet, such as Force, Keen or Zeal. Thrive is great for growing puppies but it is high in calorie and fat for your average adult dog. Yorkie's are unfortunately quite prone to bouts of pancreatitis so more moderate amounts of fat in a high-quality diet are important. If you have any questions, please let me know. | My girls have been on The Honest Kitchen for years. We mostly use Preference (which we add cooked Talapia to) or Keen, but love the Zeal, too!

| Thanks to all for the feedback! I think it would be best to use it as a mixer with my homecooked food for Cerise. I mixed one table spoon of it last night with her food and she liked it. This morning I added one teaspoon to her breakfast. I can't see her eating it by itself. I may ask for other samples to see if she likes them better. One box should last a long time as a mixer
