I've seen this issue on the board from time to time...When I got my little Buzz, he was 4 months old, and was a poop eater...I started him on raw, and he quit doing it a couple of months later...However, I have a client w/3 yorkies, and they're all on raw, and 2 of them are poop eaters...Never tried the pineapple, but hear many say that it works...Good luck!

There are products that you can feed your pet that can help with this problem. The stuff I use comes in a tasteless/odorless powder that you mix in their food and it makes their poop taste bad (imagine that!). If you have multiple pets (even cats), you might want to feed it to all of them in case your dogs wants to eat their poop, too. In order for it to work, you have to let your dog eat the bad-tasting poop, otherwise he won't know that it tastes bad. If it tastes bad every time he tries to eat it, eventually he may give up and stop. Some of the products are called: Nasty Habit (in capsule form, available from pet store) and Forbid (powder form, available from vet).

I was going to ask the same. LOL My Josie is a poop eater We did the sprinkle stuff but found the pineapple works better I think. Funny when we first discovered she was doing it. My son comes home from work he said he had to pee and put his stuff down but knew there was poop on potty pad said when he went back in there to clean it up it was gone. He calls me at work and said Ma, we either have a pooper eater or disappearing poop. Not a call your expecting at work. I said no way. I just couldn't believe it never had this problem before. As long as I give her pineapples, she don't eat it.

Nothing like going for a kiss from your pup just to find out he just finished eating a nice pile of his own poop...Bandit used to do that!! The pineapple is supposed to work very well. THe only times Bandit did it was when he pooped in his crate. Also, he stopped when we switched foods, what are you feeding?

I have had Yorkies for the past 25 years. For the first time, I have a poop eater!!! OH NO!!! How gross. I think part of the issue may be that breeder had them on crap adult dry dog food and crap wet food (for extra protein) she was missing something in her diet. Although Max does not do it. Abby had loose stools when she first came home. I started switching both of them to Wellness for Puppies immediately. They picked the Wellness over the food from the adult dog food and have had no issues with the switch. They even stopped eating the can food. When I am home I can clean up the poop before she starts to chow down. But when I am at work, she chows down. I only know she pooped because I can see the outline of poop on the potty pad. Thankfully, she does not eat Max's poop. I will give the pineapple a try and see how that works.
