| 8 weeks and No Teeth. Hello all! I just got my first Yorkie puppy named Max yesterday and noticed he has no teeth and just gums. He is 8 weeks and pretty pudgy (hes a big pup). I tried feeding him his dry food mixed with water and a little wet food that the breeder gave us but he still hasn't eaten much or at all since we've brought him home. I was wondering when his teeth should have came in, since the breeder we bought him from said they should come soon but i'm worried since I have no idea what to feed him. I wouldn't want my little guy to starve. Any suggestions on what to feed him? Or has anyone had this happen to their yorkie before? Please help with what yoo know its almost like my first child. Thanks in advance! |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I think your breeder may have lied to you. The puppy may be as young as 5 weeks. Hopefully, someone can give you advice on what to feed.

Now onto feeding. Since he's not obtained his milk teeth he must be treated as a infant. Go to Wall Mart.....obtain Canned Goat's Milk (it's next to the evaporated milk), Gerber's Baby Rice Cereal, and Karo Syrup. Go to PetSmart and purchase Benebac (pro Biotic). Give a tube whenever, you change his diet during his growth process. Now mix the can of Goat's Milk with equal parts of distilled water, in a bowl (stainless steel or glass, low enough for him to lap out of ) add enough of the rice cereal to make a gruel, add a bit of Karo. Always feed at room temperature. As his teeth come in you can begin adding kibbles...and gradually take away the goat's milk mixture as his teeth come in.

| I would go to the vet immediately.... I've had to hand rear pups with no teeth before [as a rescue foster]... the vet can check them out... make sure they're healthy.... Then they can give you milk and feeders suitable for it's age.... also is it going to the loo on it's own? If not; you are gonna have to rub its 'important bits' with a damp cloth to stimulate them to let them go.... Hurry to a vet before the poor thing dies.... also it's a good bet that it hasn't been wormed or de-flea-d - the vet can help with this too! |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | If it had k-9's it had teeth. The OP says it has no teeth.

| It seems that were trading him for another puppy :[ its only been a day with the little guy but the vet said it would be best to have him stay with his mama a little longer so the breeder offered us a different puppy who from the same litter and has teeth. |
