| LP Problems My yorkie is 6 months and loves running around on walks and playing with other dogs. I know there are similar posts but I just wondered the surgeon has postponed the surgery they thought would be necessary, hopefully until he is fully grown. He is only a grade 2 but they say if I leave it, it will get worse and to be honest I can feel it pop in and out with my own hands, albeit it causes him no apparent pain except for one time when we initially noticed it. I loved the surgeon and he was honest and up front saying he would leave it just now if it was his dog but that he probably would need it in the future especially as he loves being so active but I just wondered how long others dogs were in recovery for after the surgery? Thanks, R |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Pixie had her surgery in June and she is doing great. Recovery was hard but doable. I just kept her confined in different areas so she wouldn't get too bored. Luckily Pixie is very low energy most of the time. Pixie had grade 3 in that leg and grade 2 in her other. Her knee would not stay in at all so that's why I went ahead with the surgery. My Cali who is 5 has grade 4 in both knees and she has done fine with it. SO we are taking a wait and see approach. I would not rush into surgery just keep a close eye on her. Also ask about what supplement to give her for her joints.

| Thank you so much. Yeah I am not going to rush into it as he seems fine atm so we are also doing the wait and see approach. He is so active it is unreal which is why if he continuously gets bother from it we will go ahead. But I can't even begin to imagine recovery as he will be wanting to hop all over the place. Lol. I'm new to this and love it. It is such a brill site. |
