Yorkie Yakker | low fat food I recently put my 9.4lb yorkie Kona on Hills i/d food while we try to figure out what is causing his GI bleeding. I am not sure how much to feed him in a day? FYI....we were told before he became sick that he should lose about 1 pound....he has lost some since he became sick (about.4). So any suggestions would help.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | since he's on a prescription food by your vet, the vet should tell you how much you should be feeding. there is no guideline on the bag/can.

YT 2000 Club Member | I have a dog on this but he is slightly bigger at 20 pounds lol.. He needs to be on it for a fatty blood disorder. I give him a cup a day, spread apart between 2 feedings.. am and pm. I would def. call your vet to find out or look it up on the internet. Good luck..

| Ask your vet, first and foremost I don't know anything about prescription diets, but Jackson (who is a healthy 16lb dog) eats 1/2 cup of Acana Grasslands per day. By the bag standards, this would be too little, but the bag (I've found) often over-estimates, and a dog that needs to lose weight probably needs to be fed a little less.
